What can people expect from your live performance at the Lunar Electric Music Festival this year?
I have some very epic visuals to compliment my set that can be described as high energy. The crowd can expect some singalongs, dance tracks and a few things I am keeping under wraps. I just want to make everyone feel part of the show, entirely immerse them into the set and together make memories to last a lifetime.
With so much hype surrounding the festival this year, what are you most looking forward to during the festival?
I’m really just looking forward to being back up on stage and connecting with people through music. The last two years has been hard on the industry and we’re all just happy to be back doing what we love.
Can you share a bit about your journey over the past year or more that has led you to be a part of the festival this year?
I’ve been in the music industry for over 8 years now and played at many festivals like Stereosonic, Future Music, Creamfields in the UK and Ultra Music Festival, but this will be my first time performing at a Lunar Electric Festival. I’m very excited to be on the line-up and happy that it’s happening right here in my home town on the Gold Coast.

And Simon Leigh, Founder and Managing Director ….
What do you see as the vision or concept for the upcoming Lunar Electric Music Festival?
After the success of the first Gold Coast Lunar Electric in March, it was a no-brainer to do it all again. We had such great feedback from our first Gold Coast event so we thought we’d do it all again to see out the year on a bang. This time have added roving performance art, an enhanced VIP experience, superior production and a few more surprises up our sleeves.
This event is going to be even bigger than the first festival held earlier in the year! What are your hopes for the festival as it grows bigger and better?
It’s very rewarding to be presenting an event that makes so many people happy and brings that much needed joy and release from the trials of the last year or so. Our Newcastle Lunar Electric on December 18 is set to be bigger again with 12k tickets almost sold! We will also be bringing more live music events to other parts of Australia in 2022. The crowds at the Gold Coast’s Lunar will be the first to hear our exciting news with the official announcement made at the festival on Saturday. Stay tuned.

LUNAR ELECTRIC
Returns to the Coast

WITH just weeks to go until the gates open for the second Lunar Electric Music Festival on the Gold Coast this year, the hype has reached an all-time high.
Ten-thousand revellers are expected to roll up to Doug Jennings Park at The Spit on Saturday 6 November with more than 30 acts across two massive stages.
Festival-goers are set for a blend of high-energy mixes and hip hop tracks from Australia’s biggest names in music such as Timmy Trumpet, Will Sparks, Masked Wolf, Hooligan Hefs, HP Boys as well as local Gold Coast favourites Stafford Brothers, Brooke Evers, Bombs Away and Brooklyn.
Founder and Managing Director of Lunar Electric Music Festival, Simon Leigh said after the success of the first Gold Coast Lunar Electric in March, it was a no-brainer to do it all again.
“We had such great feedback from our first Gold Coast event so we thought we’d do it all again to see out the year on a bang,” said Mr Leigh.
“We sold out two weeks before the March event with a capacity of 8,000 due to COVID restrictions so this time we have adjusted a few things to our plan and are able to have 10,000 this time around.”
“We also have roving performance art, an enhanced VIP experience, superior production and a few more surprises up our sleeves.”
The festival rapidly sold out of VIP passes with general admission also selling fast.
“The VIP ticket demand is incredible so we have increased the capacity with an additional 200 tickets and created an amazing space for these limited ticket holders,” said Mr Leigh.
Mr Leigh said it’s been such a huge effort for himself and Co-director Shaun Dunn to produce another extensive festival in such a short time.
“It has been a lot of hard work from the team, but to be able to bring a second festival of this magnitude to the Gold Coast within just eight months is absolutely amazing,” he said.
“It’s very rewarding to be presenting an event that makes so many people happy and brings that much needed joy and release from the trials of the last year or so.”
With the overwhelming response from the Gold Coast, Mr Leigh said they will be bringing more live music events to the region in 2022 with announcements made soon.
