Emerging Sydney artist, songwriter, producer and vocalist BOY SODA (aka Brae Luafalealo) is back with his brand new single and accompanying video “Welcome To The Glow Up”. Stream and download the track HERE.

 In just a short period of time, BOY SODA has been propelled onto national and international radars; his music is a breath of fresh air and stands as an exciting moment within the new movement of burgeoning Australian-bred hip hop and R&B.

The follow up from his Warner Music Australia debut “LOVEU2BITS” and produced by Korky Buchek “Welcome To The Glow Up” sees BOY SODA coming into his own as an artist, owning his unique blend of modern electronic RnB, all the while celebrating the process. For BOY SODA, the track is his calling card to others, inviting them to join his journey, his “glow-up” if you will, and champion similar acts of self-love and recognition in their own lives.

Speaking to the track, BOY SODA notes “’W2TGU’ is a celebration of self-acknowledgement and progress. I fault myself a lot for not stopping and ‘smelling the roses’ because creatively, artists are always way ahead of their released material. As I find my feet as an R&B artist in Australia, I thought it was important to let people know that I’m confident, I know myself, I’m happy and really focused right now. I have a lot to give people sonically and emotionally and this track feels like the siren opening the floodgates. Like a BOY SODA war-cry to the rest of the unreleased songs”

 Once again BOY SODA has teamed up with director and cinematographer Bailey Watts (“LOVEU2BITS”) for another visual masterpiece, premiered via Wonderland in the UK. Pushing for something more sophisticated, yet playful, the idea for the Panda was introduced to bring forward the inner mindset of BOY SODA.

On the video, BOY SODA comments “The video really communicated the high level of energy and celebration of self that exists in the song. We used the panda to illustrate this almost unhinged and elusive alter ego within my head, and communicate these ideas of playful inner-dialogue. On a visual level, this video is much darker then LU2B, because with every release, I think about it as shedding another layer, and this song introduces you to a darker colour palette and a heavier soundscape.” 

Bailey Watts adding “BOY SODA is unique in his own way whilst keeping to his true self. The nature of who he is as person and creative, his sound, his look, is what’s special when you’re working in and alongside the BOY SODA project, it’s that everyone on the team, brings something to the table in their own unique way and that’s how movies are made. Since 2019 BOY SODA has been on the rise after being picked by Converse to travel to the United States, where he opened for Dominic Fike at the Converse x Camp Flog Gnaw brand event in Los Angeles. Returning to Australia, the young songwriter, producer and vocalist was armed with more ambition and fire driving his creativity; resulting in a string of single releases throughout 2020 that would put him on the national Australian radar. Now BOY SODA is ready for more people to become acquainted with his sound and vision for music moving forward.
