Following on from their warmly received single ‘Good Morning’, Perth-based quartet COTERIE return with their stellar new dub-tinged cut ‘Cool It Down’ – produced by the band themselves at their home studio, and co-produced by Robby De Sa (MAY-A, Gretta Ray, Sahara Beck) at Ralph Street Studios, Alexandria NSW.
Taking cues from the likes of Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and Dope Lemon, ‘Cool It Down’ is an explosion of sunshine driven by its groove-infused rhythmic section. Shining with infectious hooks, deft instrumentation and a myriad of charm, the feel-good summer party anthem combines elements of reggae, indie-pop and surf rock to deliver on one of the group’s most stirring and personal offerings to date.
“’We caught it all when we korero, now I’m longing for the sweet shores of Aotearoa’ – this lyric sums it up, Aotearoa is our home but so is West Coast Drive, and as long as we have these coastlines, we know we’re all good!” explains frontman Tyler Fisher.
Alongside the single is the eye-catching accompanying music video – filmed, directed and edited by Sarah Haleem. Shot across various locations in Western Australia, featuring live footage from their previous tours, along with candid shots of the group hanging out together on the West Coast Drive, the clip is a graceful tribute to their laidback lifestyle.
“The concept of this entire video was to give people a glimpse into our lives,” continues Tyler. “Where we live, the culture, the things we love! You’ll see the waters of West Coast Drive, the moments from our shows on tour and the shots of us writing, driving and chilling.”

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
