English born, Australia based singer songwriter Lisa Mitchell today releases her brand new single “I Believe In Kindness,” a sophisticated and mature attempt by an artist to express her emotions on a serious topic. Taken from her upcoming long awaited fourth studio album this April 2022 via Believe.
“I wrote, I Believe in Kindness, the day before the Global Climate Strike (2019) in Melbourne/Naarm. Everyone was going. My body hummed with a feeling that I couldn’t quite put my finger on… The next day 100,000 people gathered, along with millions all over the world, in devotion to our Mother (earth). Elders spoke alongside school students and activists from many industries as they shared our needs for a safe future. It is terrifying that our governments’ policies are nowhere near good enough to protect our futures and care for Country. And yet, the feeling of being together that day still fuels my faith in humanity and reminds me of the power of a feeling.”

“Zombie,” the first single from Lisa’s new body of work was universally loved and received plays on JJJ, Double J, and community radio from RRR to RTR and has so far been added to 1200 Spotify playlists. Rolling Stone said ‘Zombie’ was “a typically-stunning piece of indie-rock, bolstered by acoustic guitars, deft percussion, and a soaring chorus accompanied by Mitchell’s intoxicating voice” while Music Feeds called it “a gorgeous, dreamy cut anchored by acoustic guitars and atmospheric textures, with Mitchell’s vocals placed front and centre.” I Believe In Kindness maintains the focus on all-acoustic, all-natural instrumentation, and features the Irish Uilleann pipes – a nod to Lisa’s Celtic roots – but employed in this track like a swirling psych rock synth. With its massive-sounding syncopated drums courtesy of Kishore Ryan (Kid Sam / Otouto) and of course Lisa’s captivating voice front and centre which when it asks “Can you feel it?” makes it impossible not to.
The accompanying stunning film clip by Ilsa Wynne-Hoelscher Kidd was shot on 16mm and is a visual interpretation and exploration of the themes threaded throughout the track, leaning into the light and shade of life’s experience.
Says Ilsa: “On first listening, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming connection to nature and our unified human experience, where hope stands a chance. The images that ran through my mind were that of a nostalgic metaphor with a rough but organic balanced look at life. The analogue format was utilised to achieve a soft truthfulness within the visuals that aim to offer audiences a mosaic dream state to facilitate a drifting into their own meaning within the songwriting. To me, Lisa and her innate poetry felt native within this conceptual world we created for this song.”
And lastly today Lisa also announces details of her new album A Place To Fall Apart along with the accompanying Album Launch Tour. The album is produced by Tom Iansek (Big Scary / #1Dads) and features the new single “I Believe In Kindness” and “Zombie.” The album will be released digitally and vinyl on April 22.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
