Today is a great day, Brisbane larrikins Beddy Rays deliver new single ‘Milk’ accompanied by an absolutely hilarious . It comes just in time for fans to hit the repeat button and start learning the words, so they can belt it out with the band when they play it live this February and March on their On Ya Bike National tour.

“Milk is about breaking out of a rough patch, moving on and reminding yourself that sometimes you need to let go. It definitely lands on the punk side of our songwriting, starting out fast-paced and in your face before taking a chill pill in the second verse. The lyrics tap you on the shoulder and say “hey, it’s all good to feel the way you do”. As the pace picks up in the second chorus, the song drives into a bridge section that’ll have you metaphorically kickin’ holes in your wall, which we believe is the perfect cherry on top!” Frontman Jacko shares.

The brilliantly funny music video is a must watch. In the clip there’s a global shortage of dairy milk and the only thing people can get a hold of is powdered milk. The boys are hiding out one night in their clubhouse when across the room the TV broadcasts breaking news: there is now only one cow left on earth and it is being held in a guarded warehouse at Milky Lane Milkery. Beddys are quick to plan a heist to get their hands on the sole survivor. Action packed with guns, motorbikes and fight scenes, will Milky Lane Milkery manage to fend them off or will the four bandits get away with Bessy?

Brad O’Connor, Beddy Rays Bassist shares: “The film clip idea came from a combination of our fabulously silly minds and light heartedly taking the mickey out of hip-hop videos. We started brainstorming ideas to do with milk and decided a heist to steal the last milk cow was the go! Our good mate and videographer Luke Dunning from Umbrella Creative had the brilliant idea to utilise Tim Wood from Tank Ride’s massive warehouse which has a plethora of tanks, trucks and machinery which helped build on our initial idea.”

Beddy Rays, from Reddy Bay are four of the most happy-go-lucky larrikins on the planet also known as — Jacko, Lewy, Brad and Benny. The fellas met as young children on the primary school oval and since forming the band their life has been non-stop with their music going from strength to strength. To say 2021 was huge for the guys would be an understatement. They kicked off the year with a sweet Hottest 100 placement (#57 for ‘Sobercoaster’) which has now over 3 million streams on Spotify alone.

They then released their smash single ‘Week On Repeat’ which instantly solidified itself as a fan favourite in their live set. Following this was their most personal single to date, ‘On My Own’ featuring an unforgettable hook, punchy drums and in-your-face riffs. The boys continued their trajectory by performing an incredible triple j Like A Version, Thelma Plum’s – ‘Better In Blak’ here which scored them #190 in the Hottest 200. Beddy Rays were also finalists for both the National Indigenous Music Awards and Queensland Music Awards held earlier this year and were named winners of the 2021 Levi’s Music Prize.

They’ve toured all over the country and continually win people over with their humble personalities and knack for knowing how to have a bloody good time. This February and March fans will be able to catch them live as they’re heading around the country for their On Ya Bike National tour. For more information and tickets please visit: HERE.
