This is a so-called “split” record, as is best known from the punk world. “Something” is a part of her album called While We Wait and will be released digitally on February 25th and then on sizzling beautiful vinyl shortly afterwards.
Speaking on the track, RAKEL said, “I wrote something on a very uncomfortable folding chair in my room in the early spring of 2021. I wrote it on an electric guitar that I had borrowed from my friend. I did not have an amplifier in my apartment so I could barely hear what came out of the guitar, but it was at least enough to evoke a melody line.
The song is an absolute love song. I wrote it when I was starting a new relationship and it maybe describes the feeling when you are still a little bit trying to keep the ball and not quite ready to say everything you are thinking out loud. So the song was such a temporary outlet for all these delicate and silly feelings.
I had a bit of a hard time sharing the song with people to begin with because it was so full of new and sensitive emotions. In the end, I gathered my courage and took it with me on a visit to my good friend and musician, Axels Flóvent. I wanted the song to be both quiet and powerful at the same time, a bit like my feelings at the time. They were very loud and strong but at the same time not ready to be exposed, I wanted to try to reflect that in the world of sound. Axel and I put the song in a kind of shoegaze world and then I recorded it with another talented friend, Hafstein Þráinsson, who plays guitar and bass in the song. We must not forget Svanhildur Lóa, but she played the drums.
With this joint album, While We Wait, Salóme and Sara wanted to create a platform to test ourselves further in new worlds of sound and explore more aspects of us as musicians. It turned out to be one of the most fun projects I have participated in and also my song ‘Something’.”

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
