Do you feel like 2022 has already started passing far too quickly? Do you feel tired with everything that is happening in our lives like masks, empty shelves, omicron and a pervasive feeling of drudgery as we continue clocking in a 40-hour work week? Well, The Dockers have the remedy with their joyous release “Get Caffeinated”. A song brimming with all the ‘cup half full’ vibes you could want to help you turn your day, your week around.

The Dockers hail from Sydney but have recently relocated to London and with “Get Caffeinated”, we get a sense that the band is slowly evolving in their sound. Featuring a plucky and energetic guitar riff that skips along, drums by The Middle Kids’ Harry Day and with a melody that beckons like an invitation to dance, the sound is reminiscent of some of Australia’s most beloved indie bands and festival darlings like The Jungle Giants or The Preatures. Also, the lyrical style which is cheeky and playful has shades of earlier songs from Englishmen The Wombats. It’s a song of familiarity, boundaries are not being pushed here but hearts are definitely being won. “Get Caffeinated’s” cruisey approach hints at summer days at the beach, good times with friends and letting go of all the BS in our lives, if just for a while.

With lines like “And in a close shot, life’s a tragedy, in a long shot it’s nothing but a comedy” The Dockers get philosophical and also whimsical about life. “Get Caffeinated” may not necessarily be about a large oat milk flat white but its buzzy positive effect on the listener is entirely intentional. According to frontman Muz, “get your caffeine and give it out there to the world, that’s what this song is.” It works splendidly and lets us know what The Dockers are all about, which is a good thing to discover given the band is quietly hinting that “Get Caffeinated” is just the first offering before they release their full album later this year. But before then they’ll be battling it out at the Isle of Wight “New Blood” Festival after being finalists from a pool of 50,000.

Want to get happy? Then “Get Caffeinated”, available across all online platforms on 18th Feb 2022

The Dockers
Bio:

The Dockers met as lifeguards in the suburbs of Western Sydney. The duo, Louis and Muz, decided there was an element of energy missing in the air, The Dockers sought to make their peers dance. The chlorine and endless coffee drinking brought their debut EP “Yahtzee” which has now gained over 100,000 streams on Spotify.

The Dockers are known for their energetic live performances that have turned into raves and have played to sold out crowds along the east coast of Australia.

After singles such as “Gypsy King”, “Ljubljana Lights” and “I knew him (well?) Horatio”, The Dockers are set to bring a new tidal wave of music to their listeners’ ears beginning with an instant classic “Get Caffeinated”.

The Dockers are currently finalists in the Isle of Wight “New Blood” Festival down from 50000 bands to the last 75, which could see them play the big stage in July.

It’s safe to say, The Dockers party is only getting warmed up for nothing but a good time.
