Channelling their early beginnings in and love of punk-rock, Short Stack have lifted a fresh taste from their upcoming album Maybe There’s No Heaven today in the form of new single ‘Armageddon’.

Today the band are also announcing that Maybe There’s No Heaven will now drop on Friday April 8, 2022 via UNFD.

Statement from Short Stack:

“We have an update regarding the release of our album ‘Maybe There Is No Heaven’. We’ve decided to delay the album until April 8. The reason is, when we dreamed of releasing our first album in seven years, we imagined meeting as many of our fans as we could on the road to celebrate. We’d booked some small cap shows up the East Coast during release week that don’t look like like they will happen in February, so we’ve decided it would be worth the wait to replan something for April, right after we warm up at UNIFY in March as well!”

“Stay tuned for plans around this new release date – we can’t wait to see you. In the meantime, we’ve also dropped another song off the album called ‘Armageddon’!”

On today’s ‘Armageddon’ release, Short Stack frontman Shaun Diviney reminisces: “We grew up as massive fans of Blink-182 and when we very first started out we would just play Blink covers in our garage. This song is a love letter to that. We wanted to make it a real throw back to our roots, super quick and really fun. It’s one of my favourite songs on the record.”

Distilling their sensational and storied career into 10 crunchy and instantly memorable bangers (including previous singles ‘Burn You Down‘, ‘Live4‘ and ‘Love You Like I Used To‘) Maybe There’s No Heaven is Short Stack’s most honest work to date and the truest reflection of their mateship and musicianship.

“There was a tension between the band that we wanted to be and the band that other people around us wanted to be,” says Diviney of the band’s past releases and experiences in the music industry. Drummer Bradie Webb declares that this time around feels like the group “finally have our hands on the steering wheel.”

More about ‘Maybe There’s No Heaven’

After beginning band practice in a central coast garage during high school, the Short Stack trio – comprising vocalist Shaun Diviney, bassist Andy Clemmensen and drummer Bradie Webb – dropped their explosive debut album Stack Is The New Black as the group hit the ripe old age of 20. Sweeping up an #1 ARIA Chart debut, a Rolling Stone cover, Platinum recognition and tens of thousands of tickets sold in its wake, Short Stack soared to incredible heights.

Over a decade on from their rise to stardom, the trio are reflecting on their fascinating journey – warts and all – on their new album Maybe There’s No Heaven. For all its epic highs and crushing lows, Short Stack are looking back on their career with gratitude for every experience and unswerving fan that’s led them to this moment. After all that’s been, Maybe There’s No Heaven was birthed from the truest form of Short Stack there is, as Bradie concludes: “it isn’t in any way what someone else told us we should be.”
