The Hanging Rock shows are announced in partnership with the Victorian Government’s contemporary live music major event ALWAYS LIVE – a brand new Victoria-wide celebration of live contemporary music. Supporting Cave and Ellis on both shows is Courtney Barnett.
Cave has already announced, via The Red Hand Files, that the full ‘Australian Carnage’ Tour will run from mid-November to mid-December. Details on more shows will be announced soon.
The Hanging Rock dates follow the 2021 release of Cave and Ellis’ acclaimed album CARNAGE as well as a run of phenomenal shows across the UK and Europe, and a current North American tour. Also just announced is that Andrew Dominik’s film THIS MUCH I KNOW TO BE TRUE featuring Nick Cave and Warren Ellis will be in cinemas worldwide on May 11, following its critically acclaimed world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.
While Cave and Ellis have composed and recorded many soundtracks together, and Ellis is a long-term member of The Bad Seeds, CARNAGE is the first album of songs the pair have released.
Cave and Ellis’ creative chemistry is rooted in their long history of music making, both as collaborators and as individual artists. They first crossed paths in 1993, when Ellis played violin on several songs for the Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album, Let Love In, before going on to join the band as a full-time member. The two have also recorded as Grinderman, formed in 2006, and have composed and recorded numerous, film, TV and theatre soundtracks together.

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
