A joining of electronic giants Go Freek, and Mickey Kojak, and the formidable Thandi Phoenix, the trio come together to deliver a new uplifting track, ‘Lose You’, on Sweat It Out. The combination of these three killer Australian artists showcases the diverse and eclectic electronic music scene that has been built in recent years.

On ‘Lose You’ Go Freek, and Mickey Kojak combine 00s influenced breakbeats with flanger infused synthesizers and arpeggios underneath an uplifting chorus delivered by Thandi Phoenix to create an instant classic club anthem. Thandi Phoenix says of collaborating that “It was my first time working with the guys. We had a few hours together at a Sweat It Out writing camp last year and ‘Lose You’ was born. It’s a melancholic banger about a breakup. When you know you need to let go but the feelings are still there.” The track follows a story of finding your own confidence after losing love and the huge bassline and thumping kick acts as the euphoric feeling you get when you bounce back from a relationship induced slump and find your groove again.

Speaking on how the collaboration came together Go Freek says that he “Loved working withMickey and Thandi. The first session kicked off with unravelling our emotions, it felt like therapy for myself. We dove in with some deep energy, layed the soothing chords and began telling a story of letting go of love to save who you are as a person in your purest form.. But it had to be a dancefloor smasher with a big baseline of course! – uplifting and giving confidence to go dancing on your own again!”

Further sharing his excitement for the record, Mickey adds “Go Freek and I have been working on music together behind the scenes since we first met at Perth airport, drank a little too much at the lounge bar, and missed our flights home. It feels like we’re coming full circle with this release ‘Lose You’. I’ve always admired Thandi’s songwriting abilities and that voice, oh my lord. The three of us had a quick session together way back in 2021 and as soon as Thandi started writing lyrics for this track and belting out those vocals, I knew we were onto a winner.”
