The wait is finally over for Hollie Col fans with the release of her EP Julia Stevens, produced and co-written by Dylan Nash (Gretta Ray, Dean Lewis) and featuring hits ‘Forgot To Love You’, ‘Reruns’ and ‘Seasick’.
To coincide with the release, she has unveiled the epic extended video for singles ‘Julia’ and ‘Lightning’ and the much-anticipated finale to the Julia Stevens love story.
.
.
Hollie explains, “The ‘Julia’ Extended Music Video is the nearly 9-minute, short film-esque, passion-filled finale of the ‘Julia Stevens Series’. It features a bonus track, ‘Lightning’, three extended dialogue scenes, and an exhilarating story of all-encompassing love, calamitous heartache and twists, that crescendo into one heck of an ending. Will Julia leave for New York? Will she decide to stay? Does she even feel the same? It’s time to finally find out.”
In celebration of the EP, Hollie will be hitting the road on a national tour in June, performing new singles for the very first time as well as making her debut performance in Perth and Adelaide.
Across the seven tracks, Hollie Col has accelerated into a new era, boasting an intoxicating mix of crisp hybrid guitar-infused pop anthems, with glittered 70’s influence and stripped back, honest, gut-punches.
Effortlessly carrying her natural gift of crafting enrapturing melodies and relatable lyricism, the title track ‘Julia’ is an ode to 70’s charm, bursting open with a captivating choir of vocals, enveloping you in an irresistible chorus before erupting into a HAIM-esque guitar heavy, indie pop anthem.
Hollie details the nauseating back and forth between lovers-to-be on ‘Seasick’, launching straight into a creamy guitar riff that drives through the entire track, underneath brazen, unfiltered lyricism, retro synths, and a tightly tucked drum pattern.

On ‘Lightning’, it’s a grand and unexpected evolution of sound, opening with an intimate vintage piano and Hollie’s raw vocal, irresistibly captivating a world of honesty, emotion and indie pop gold.
“I wrote this EP over the course of three years, with each song time-capsuling a particular feeling from when I wrote it. When it came time to put these songs together for an EP, I realised they almost encompassed the timeline of an entire relationship. The simmering crush, the back-and-forth, the hopes (and doubts), the what-ifs, the passionate love, and the calamitous heartache. So, I wanted to amalgamate them into one single love story that detailed every experience I’ve ever had in love and the concept of Julia Stevens was born.”
The Julia Stevens EP solidifies Hollie’s step into the sunshine, basking unapologetically in the honesty of her sexuality, and leaning into the vulnerability of bold and beautiful love. Hollie’s passion for, and commitment to, elevating LGBT stories is tireless and intrepid. ‘In everything I do, I want to champion self-expression and celebration. I want to give young people the representation I always craved’.
