Love can truly be messy; it gets us worked up and lost in the highs and lows of the relationship. It gets chaotic – loco even. And for the 25-year-old Perth-based Hip-Hop Singer-Songwriter, Chatters, whatever craziness relationships bring, it cannot outshine a passion for love and life.
After the success of selling out FOUR5NINE for the Launch Party of his recent EP “Still Chatting” last August, Chatters is back with another upbeat and catchy tune that will really leave us loco for more. The single was released on May 13 on all streaming platforms, and the Music Video, produced by Drop Shot Media, was released on May 18, with the Live Show Launch coming on this Friday, May 27.

To share the little things, the song, titled “Loco”, was written by Chatters and engineered, produced and mixed by Uncool Sam. It was created over a number of sessions of mixing and matching pop/disco with hip hop sounds, while as much as possible using live instruments rather than samples. Recorded at Shakedown Studios in Perth, Western Australia, Chatters and Alex Conradie performed the vocals. Along with the recording, Chatters also had a blast shooting the Music Video which was inspired by ‘Detroit Rock City’ and ‘The Night Before’, not only because of its fun and chaotic vibe, but because it also included scenes with his mates, cousins, Dad and (get ready for sweetness overload) his Nanna. The theme was prescribed to make people laugh and not take themselves too seriously.
Despite still being relatively new in the scene, Chatters’ unique song-writing has started making a name for himself, with media coverage from RTR, XPress Mag, OZ HipHop Shop and The Sunday Session among others. For this humble, down-to-chat rapper who takes the limelight on weekends and yet also earns an honest keep in the Monday-to-Friday hustle, only exciting things await for, in his own words, “an electrician by day and an Australian rapper by night”.
