Acclaimed for his “ageless music” (NPR) and a voice that conveys a well of wisdom wise beyond his 25 years, rising Belgian-Egyptian musician Tamino today unveils the accompanying music video to his latest single from his forthcoming second album, Sahar, due out September 23 on Virgin Australia.

The video for “Fascination” was influenced visually by road films and was shot in sun-drenched rural Spain.
Of the video, directors Bastiaan Lochs and Jonathan Van Hemelrijck say,“We wanted to let go this time and just have fun while shooting this music video. I must say driving around in one of the most badass cars to be found in Western Europe really helped. We went urban exploring. Jumping from waterfalls. Drifting while listening to Nirvana in the desert. you can really see that the fun translated to the screen. This feels like one of the more “real” films I ever made.”
The grandson of one of Egypt’s most famed singers and film stars, Tamino channels his own lineage, as well as the folk and rock music traditions from the Middle East and Europe for a borderless and timeless record. Created in the wake of the international frenzy of his 2018 debut Amir, with over 126 million streams and widespread praise from The Guardian, British GQ, BBC Radio 1 and more, Tamino’s sophomore album Sahar was born. Already adept at playing guitar and piano, Tamino took up the oud, an Arabic lute, under the mentorship of a Syrian refugee living in Antwerp. The instrument served as a key tool in the songwriting process, and provides a melancholic soundscape that is threaded throughout the project. The record is a distillation of Tamino’s solitary reflections, and a product of work with close collaborators including Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood, producer/engineer PJ Maertens, and drummer Ruben Vanhoutte.
Tamino is set to tour Europe and North America this fall. He’s already sold out fall dates in London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Toronto and due to popular demand has added a second night at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on Oct 13.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
