Set to release their debut self-titled album on Friday 29 July, Beddy Rays are getting the party started early, announcing an exclusive, limited capacity hometown show at Redland Community Centre on Saturday 16 July.   With all proceeds donated to the COOEE Indigenous Family and Community Education Centre, the night will include performances by Concrete Surfers and Planet Waves, raffles and raucous tunes from the Reddy Bay’s finest four-piece.  Tickets on sale at 10:00am AEST today via www.beddyrays.com

“Reddy Bay is where everything started for us and DIY gigs are a part of our pedigree. With that in mind, we wanted to go full circle and bring everything back to our humble beginnings with a local backyard party style gig and we reckon we’ve achieved just that. We also want to give back to the community that has supported us over the years, so we’ve decided to donate all proceeds to COOEE Indigenous Family and Community Education Centre who aim to support the education and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and families in Redland City,” says the band of the show.

Renowned for undeniably boisterous live show, Beddy Rays will officially kick of their national album tour on Saturday 13 August on the Sunshine Coast and will travel to Perth, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Hobart, Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Torquay, with new dates added in Adelaide, Canberra and the Gold Coast.

Beddy Rays have this to say of their forthcoming self-titled album, “When we started a band many years ago as young whipper snappers in Reddy Bay all we wanted to do was play gigs, sink tins and chat to all the legends we’d meet along the way. Now we have our very own album firmly in our grip, and to say we’re excited is a major understatement. We decided to go with a self-titled album for our debut because we believe this album IS Beddy Rays through-and-through. It’s honest, raw and nothing other than what we’re all about… mateship, Reddy Bay, good times and beers, but also the importance of looking after yourself and checking in with ya mates. It’s made up of our recent singles and a bunch of brand newies we’ve been cooking up for you legends. A nice mixed bag of lollies! We hope you love it as much as we do!”

Produced by Brock Weston and Beddy Rays, and recorded at Brock’s Place in Brisbane, Beddy Rays features the aforementioned thrasher Sort It Out, the chaotic Week On Repeat, the explosive Wait A While, a rowdy dose of Milk, the mosh ready beast On My Own and the anthem that started it all, Sobercoaster.

Beddy Rays, composed of vocalist, guitarist and Woppaburra descendent Jacko Van Issum, lead guitarist Lewy McKenna, bassist Brad O’Connor and drummer Benny Wade, have been on the rise for the past couple of years.  Their breakthrough anthem Sobercoaster landed at #54 on the triple j hottest 100, racked up over 3.5 million streams and has seen the band continue on a ballistic trajectory ever since.  The four-piece have gained multiple nominations at both the Queensland Music Awards and National Indigenous Music Awards, were announced as winners of the Levi’s Music Prize in 2021 and rocked their cover of Thelma Plum’s Better in Blak for triple J Like A Version.

Beddy Rays have annihilated festival stages at Valley Fiesta, Summer Sounds, Play on the Plains, Super Fun Day, ShoreShocked and The Push and will perform at Spin Off this July alongside Glass Animals, Spacey Jane and Jack Harlow.

Get ready Australia, 2022 is set to be a Beddy good time!
