produced by Sam Brittain,

Lucas Day turned down a career in Chemical Engineering to instead dive headfirst into making his dreams of becoming a full-time musician a reality. He’s already got that in the bag, playing gigs all over South Australia every night of the week, but today he’s dropping ‘Right Where I Needed You’ – the first of 14 tracks from his debut which comes out in December 2022 (listen HERE).

Right Where I Needed You pays homage to an intimately heartbreaking time in the 27-year old’s life where he lost his Aunty and Grandma only a week apart – one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The track is an emotional nod to his partner for being there during such a tough time which forged the foundation of their blossoming relationship in many ways.
Settling into his new sound with guidance of the EP’s producer Sam Brittain of Wildflower Studios, Right Where I Needed You features a bouncy blues riff-rock – a notable contrast to the heavy theme of the song – and a half-time chorus at the end that is lined up by what Lucas describes as a ““quick ‘trip” around a mental spiral”.

The track and EP features members of Wanderers (SXSW 2022) and Ollie English (SA Music Awards ‘People’s Choice Blues & Roots’ 2018, 2019 & 2020) on drums, bass, keys and backup vox. If that’s not enough to convince you that this EP is absolutely going to rip, then may we suggest getting up to speed.
If you’re lucky enough to have caught Lucas Day slaying the front bar at your local pub on a Sunday arvo, or as one of the professional entertainers onboard an international cruise line pre-pandemic, you’ll already know that the multi-instrumentalist from Sellicks Beach along South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula was born a natural.
Equipped with sensational skills as a future guitar hero, an unmatched proficiency as a footdrum player, and a compositional and lyrical style that is truly beyond reproach, Lucas Day is no longer just a well-kept secret of his hometown’s music scene, now, the world is watching, and he’s ready to shine!
Catch Lucas Day live at The Grace Emily for the official single launch of Right Where I Needed You on Saturday 30 July. Tickets are on sale now via Moshtix.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
