Hot off the heels of their first national tour, STARCRAZY are back with a monstrous new single, ‘The Open Sea’, a nihilistic hard rock anthem complete with big guitars, mind bending rifforma and huge four part vocal harmonies.
The bands crossover sound of 70’s Glam Rock meets 80’s Alternative Metal has delighted punters around Australia. At a live Starcrazy show you can expect an onslaught of guitar mastery, power-pop vocal hooks, glitter eyeliner and a damn good time. Think Van Halen meets Cheap Trick.

The lyrics, “I want to throw myself into the open sea and just let it do what it will, let the ocean carry me” is a metaphor for letting go of everyday concerns/responsibilities/pressures etc.
I’ve always found it extremely calming to lay in the water at a beach with my eyes closed and feel the waves lapping around me. Most of our lyrics revolve around the scuzziness of living in the city so the imagery of this song is a nice juxtaposition… “ (Front-man Marcus Fraser)

The Open Sea was recorded @ Damien Gerard Studios on the Central Coast of NSW as was the previous single ‘The Big Time’.
