.

Britney Spears.

Britney Spears makes a long-awaited return this week, taking #1 on the Singles Chart; while the beloved Australian songwriter she inspired, Julia Jacklin, debuts at #2 on the Albums Chart.

With three #1 albums already under their belt, Muse are back with Will of the People, debuting at the top spot on this week’s Albums Chart. Coming in second, is ARIA Award-winner Julia Jacklin’s third studio album, Pre Pleasure, landing off the back of a world tour announcement last week.

On the Singles Chart, Elton John and Britney Spears take #1 with the debut of Hold Me Closer, the latter’s first song in six years. Sir Elton holds seven ARIA #1 albums with Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only the Piano Player, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Caribou, Elton John Greatest Hits, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, Breaking Hearts and The Very Best of Elton John; while Spears has a #1 with Femme Fatale.
