Sydney’s psychedelic music project of Zeppelin Hamilton and Clayton Allen, Velvet Trip externalize an internal odyssey in their latest funky and introspective clip “It’s Only Human” out today.

The band enlisted Sydney director Clover Ryan, who conceptualised and elaborated on lead singer Zeppelin Hamilton’s rumination on human nature and the tendency to seek reassurance from a higher power.
“I think after the past few years we’ve had, with everything that’s been going on externally – and how that’s affected us all internally, it’s been really easy to get swept up in the waves of it all.
At the end of the day, we’re all a part of this universe, the seen and unseen, the known and unknown, and so everything that we seek in whatever divine entity, I think is also ultimately inside of us. With that, we really wanted to play with putting him in nature and combining unnatural elements into the scenes.”
Today they have shared they will be hitting the road this December for an east coast summer tour in support of the latest single, heading to Melbourne, Byron Bay, Sydney, Wollongong and Brisbane.
Speaking of the track, the proud Wiradjuri man says, “‘It’s Only Human’ comes from a space of contemplation, introspection, and surrender; when ideologies that once felt safe now feel constrictive and the idols once followed now feel flawed. It is a comment on the human condition and the places we turn to put ourselves back together when all feels lost.”
Taking cues from boundary-pushing artists such as Parcels, Tame Impala, and Temples, the track is a whirr of spacey vocals and delicious guitar licks, accelerated by a driving beat, with the band breaking the psych rock mold in an enchanting fashion. Complimenting the cosmic musicality of the piece, frontman Zeppelin Hamilton lyrically examines human connectivity and false hope.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
