Grapevine Gathering kicked off over the weekend in Perth and South Australia, with fans being treated when hosts of the festival The Inspired Unemployed surprised the crowd and brought out our favourite identical twins The Veronicas for a rendition of ‘A Star Is Born’ hit ‘Shallow’ at both shows.
With shows still to come in VIC this weekend followed by NSW & QLD – hopefully they’ll keep up the tradition for the rest of the tour. Final tickets are drying up!
The Inspired Unemployed boys were hosting Grapevine Gathering, drinking copious amounts of shoeys out of shoes thrown at them from the crowd as well as playing tunes during changeover sets.
The Veronicas’ set was a highlight of the day with the crowd screaming all the lyrics at the top of their lungs with them asking the crowd to “please ride for the national anthem” before finishing their set with their hit ‘Untouched’.
Other highlights included The Kooks who have hit Australian shores to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of their album Inside In / Inside Out. Quirky brother sister duo got the party started with multiple costume changes. Jack River wowed audiences impressively performing at 7 months pregnant.
Grapevine Gathering’s live music lineup features ‘Naive’ singers The Kooks, Ball Park Music, Confidence Man, Jack River, Alice Skye, Nyxen, and Becca Hatch.
Grapevine Gathering will be complemented by the finest local food and produce on offer and of course a selection of the tastiest drops from each respective region. Located in the picturesque wine regions, partygoers will be treated to lush vineyards, rolling lawns and world-class wine.
