One of the most anticipated death-core albums of the year “Pain Remains” intrigues us for over an hour to deliver this masterpiece.
Fluid, dynamic and intriguing. Lorna Shore have created a symphonic masterpiece that fans could only describe as one of the most emotional albums released.
No longer the underdogs, they are quickly becoming one of the most talked about extreme metals bands.
Lorna Shore definitely made the right decision when they recruited Will Ramos as their lead vocalist. Two years ago you would have not imagined you would see this band dominate the industry, then in 2021 we got to hear the first recorded involvement of Will Ramos on the EP release of “And I Return To Nothingness”
With those shredding vocals.

The band comments on the upcoming Pain Trilogy: “The Pain Trilogy is a three part tale focusing on the stages of grief and vulnerability and exemplifying it through a love story. The first song, “Pain Remains I: Dancing like Flames” begins with the main character becoming enamored by the person within his dreams. He decides to turn to this reality as a sense of purpose despite knowing that the closer he gets to his goal, the further it seems to drift away.”

Leading up to the release fans have been teased with ‘Pain remains I: Dancing like flames’ Leaving them wanting more. With one fan writing: “Wow and I thought To the Hellfire was an amazing song this is better you can truly hear the pain in Will’s vocals. This song ups my hype levels for the new album if this is only a portion of the album it could easily be my favourite album of 2022 because this is my favourite song of the year so far.”
.
Oppressively dark, and emotional. This album is definitely a step up from the band’s previous work and they continue to set themselves apart from other bands in this genre.
Will’s vocals take lead with low-end gutturals on this album but we are met with some brutal guitar solos. The album has an orchestral vibe throughout making the emotion behind the lyrics a lot more prominent.
‘Welcome Back, O’Sleeping Dreamer’ opens with a theatrical feel to it before we are led into a storm of vocals. Each track blends seamlessly into one another but each offering a different sound.
‘Sun/Eater’, ‘Soulless Existence’ and ‘Wrath’ are just utter chaos. Gutturals and squeals shred these tracks and we are offered some surprise solos throughout. The tracks still keep with the theatrical sound behind.
At the end of the album we are met with the ‘Pain Remains’ trio. A deathcore ballad! With extreme emotional elements, dirty screams and insane breakdowns.

About LORNA SHORE:
For Lorna Shore, 2020 was nothing short of a reckoning – in a career built on challenges, changes and a single-minded vision. For the New Jersey quintet, 2020 signaled the pandemic and cancelled tours. The following year presented the band with a staggering creative challenge in the form of the song, To the Hellfire (currently at 11M+ views on YouTube, 22M+ streams on Spotify), from their hugely well-regarded EP …And I Return to Nothingness. Yet, through it all, they upped their sonic ante with their upcoming album, Pain Remains, that not only aligns with everything Lorna Shore has hinted at, but it also exceeds that – brutally and magnificently. “I’m a firm believer in the butterfly effect,” says guitarist Adam De Micco. “While you can try and boil it down to one song or one moment in a song, that’s just one moment in a career with a lot leading up to that.”
“Hellfire was a big, viral moment for the band, but we are way more than just a viral 30-second breakdown band,” adds drummer Austin Archey.
Clocking in at just over an hour, Pain Remains is as far-reaching in scope as any modern extreme metal album. It thinks big, pushing beyond preconception or musical boundaries.
Catch the Pain Remains trilogy closing out the new album, with the three-part opus offering everything from a deathcore ballad, to symphonic aggression and a nine-minute powerhouse ending proceedings on Part III.
