A year ago this week The Colliflowers played their first ever live show at their local Beach Hotel Byron Bay.
The band have very quickly made a name for themselves as one of hottest new acts on the Australian scene, playing to big crowds as headliners, and being in demand as a support for acts including Pacific Avenue, Gabriella Cohen, Rum Jungle, Taj Ralph, South Summit, Lazy Ghost and more. They were also booked for a spot at The Festival of the Sun before its cancellation.
The band have been hard at work in the rehearsal room and studio, finding and finessing their sound. The result is their stunning new single ‘Nighttime Whispers’ which is out worldwide today. Recorded at Southern Cross University Studios in Lismore, the band worked on the track with engineer Steve Law and producer Mike Watson (WHARVES).
‘Nighttime Whispers’ is a sexy rock tune which combines beautiful vocals and lyrics with a super catchy melody which channels a fusion of groovy indie guitar rock and reggae vibes. Influences from bands Lime Cordiale and Ocean Alley can be heard here as well as the classic hooks of artists like Eagles and Steely Dan.
The seemless melding of modern and classic is to be experienced at one of The Colliflowers’ live shows. Frontman Gary Collocott reeks of charisma and showmanship and has the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. Rachael Goddard is a sparkling and powerful presence on drums, Nelson Ludeke on lead guitar lays down sharp classic solo work whilst the whole band is driven forward by Alex Pereira who is a hip-shaking force on bass. This band knows how to ENTERTAIN and every show sees their fan base grow.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
