Darren Hayes, one of the greatest singer-songwriter/performers this country has ever produced, will return to Australian stages for the first time in over a decade in January/February 2023 with his ‘Do You Remember?’ Tour – 25 Years Of Savage Garden, Solo Hits And More! This 6-city national tour will showcase Darren’s extraordinary catalogue of smash hits, which span a remarkable four decades.

Today, Darren announced that one of Australia’s most loved acts from the 90’s, Bachelor Girl, will join the tour in Australia.  Darren said: “Like many Australians my age, I feel like I grew up with Bachelor Girl.  Their songs are the soundtrack to growing up in the 90’s.   Having Tania and James come out on the road with me is a real treat and the perfect compliment to a tour that is all about remembering the good times.  I can’t wait to sing along from side of stage”.

Tania Doko and James Roche from Bachelor Girl said: “We are stoked Darren has asked us to join him on his Aussie tour that will undoubtedly showcase his extraordinary artistry and song-writing. Darren has been a long-time friend and champion of Bachelor Girl’s, so there’s this wonderful mutual admiration club and some common ground we share. Together we are so up for bringing all the nostalgia of both our bands’ past work to these massive stages, share new stories and play fresh material. When two acts connect like we do, this is more than a tour, this is going to be a massive party and creative family gathering, every night!”

The world-class calibre of Savage Garden’s songs is undeniable: I Want You (1996’s best-selling single by an Australian artist), To The Moon And Back, Truly Madly Deeply (1997’s best-selling single by an Australian artist, which set a record for the longest time any single in history spent in the U.S. Hot Adult Contemporary chart – 23 weeks in total!), I Knew I Loved You, Affirmation – all songs that have soundtracked our lives and inspired future songwriters.  When you add Darren’s astounding solo output – including a string of hit singles such as Insatiable, Pop!ular and So Beautiful – to the equation, the stats don’t lie: 30 million albums sold globally, 2x chart-topping singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, 14x ARIA Awards, 10x APRA songwriting awards, 5x Top 10 albums and 9x Top 10 singles to date.

This 2023 national tour, which also plays dates in the UK and US, follows the release of Darren’s first new album in a decade ‘Homosexual’, a celebration of love and music that have influenced his illustrious career over the past 25 years. The new album was produced, arranged, composed and performed entirely by Darren Hayes. ‘Homosexual’ was recorded in his home studio in Los Angeles and features the singles ‘Let’s Try Being In Love’, Do You Remember?,  ‘All You Pretty Things’ and the tender ‘Feels Like It’s Over’.

In 1992, Tania Doko and James Roche formed Bachelor Girl and the duo became one of the most loved Australian acts of the 90’s and early 2000’s, enjoying Australian and international success in Asia, Scandinavia and the US (including signing with the legendary Clive Davis at Arista Records). Their hit single ‘Buses and Trains’ was the most played Australian composition on Australian radio in its first year of release and during the last 25 years overall. In 1999, ‘Buses and Trains’ received the coveted APRA ‘Song of the Year’ award, while the critically acclaimed debut album ‘Waiting for the Day’ spawned five chart topping, radio-friendly singles including ‘Treat Me Good’ and ‘Permission To Shine’, and reached double platinum certification and an ARIA win to the duo for ‘Producer of the Year’.

After a brief hiatus to pursue their individual musical paths as writers and producers for outside artists in Sweden and the UK, Tania and James reunited to release their socially conscious single ‘Speak’, in 2018. With their hit-studded and dynamic live set, Bachelor Girl have secured impressive support slots including international heavyweights Eurythmics and The Goo Goo Dolls. Set to unleash an exciting, thought provoking single ‘Calling Out Your Name’ in early 2023, Tania and James are thrilled to accept an invitation from their friend Darren Hayes to join him on his ‘Do You Remember’ Australian national tour.
