“A musician who can do it all – from sweeping strings, to lilting lullabies and dark pop hits” – Gigwise

dodie has given audiences a taste of her intimate and playful live performance in NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series ahead of her sold-out Australian headline tour, ‘Hot Mess, An Intimate Tour Experience’, kicking off this February.
As the final Tiny Desk Concert to be filmed in 2022, dodie performed four songs lifted from her most recent EP Hot Mess, as well as her 2021 album Build A Problem. dodie’s collaborative spirit saw her invite 10 talented musicians into the studio with her, including a mix of her current touring band, friends from LA, local DC-based artists, and even a Canadian fan and bassist who answered a call-out post on Instagram. A performance described by NPR as “strikingly melodic, whimsical and wistful”, dodie blissfully moved from piano, to clarinet, to ukulele, with each song unpacking the flawed, emotionally erratic, wondrously complex conundrum that is being alive.
The announcement of her debut Australian headline tour ‘Hot Mess, An Intimate Tour Experience’ last December saw dodie immediately begin trending on social media, and all three show dates – Thursday 23 February at the Northcote Theatre in Melbourne, Friday 24 February at the Metro Theatre in Sydney, and Saturday 25 February at The Triffid in Brisbane – sold out in a matter of hours.
dodie is also excited to spotlight incredible local artists as part of this upcoming tour, today announcing the support act for each show: Kat Edwards in Melbourne, andie in Sydney, and Medhanit in Brisbane.
Lutruwita/Tasmania artist Kat Edwards released her second EP Best Bad News last year, an indie-rock gem that earned her a spot on triple j Unearthed’s list of most played artists in 2022. Blue Mountains singer-songwriter andie had a similar rise to dodie herself, building up a large following on YouTube with her captivating covers and original music. And Brisbane-based Medhanit recently played Falls Festival in Byron as the triple j Unearthed winner, after touring with PNAU as a live vocalist in 2022.
Late 2021 and early 2022 saw dodie embark on an extensive tour across the UK and North America in support of her debut album Build A Problem, with two sold-out theatre shows at the Ace Hotels in LA, a sold out Kings Theatre in New York, and the UK leg culminating with a triumphant show at London’s Eventim Apollo.
Further to releasing her debut album, at 27, dodie has already done a lot of living. Some of that has played out online as she made a name for herself as a singer and writer, amassing millions of fans with her disarmingly honest videos and affecting, intimate singing style. dodie has amassed over 1 billion streams to date, with 7 million followers across all platforms, she’s sold out over 100 consecutive shows globally, with performances on Late Night with Seth Myers and Sunday Brunch and has become an ambassador for Depersonalisation charity Unreal.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
