Mermaid Waters display a new image and an overhauled revision of their fierce and classic single ‘HOLD A GRUDGE’ which will set to be their lead single on their upcoming EP.

Originally forming as a duo – for the first time ever, Mermaid Waters are not only overhauling their sound and style – but expanding their line up to a trio. Upon discussing major future releases, they decided to revisit one of their fan favourite classics and display what the trio can really do, how hard they can hit and how to turn the dial up to 11.

The newly evolved suburban rock trio are currently in the final development and recording stages of their debut EP which aims for a mid 2023 release – featuring ‘Hold a Grudge’ as their lead hard rock anthemic single.

“Realistically Mermaid Waters are still in it’s infant years and we’re happy to keep evolving and trying new things, sounds and styles – just as long as we can keep things interesting” – Liam Chapman (Vocals)

Mermaid Waters is comprised of 3 high school friends from the suburbs of Gold Coast, Australia. Featuring Liam Chapman (Vocals & Drums), Lachlan McKay (Lead & Rhythm Guitar) and Harrison Crane (Bass) – the trio have sparked a rebellious flame within the hearts of their passionate and loyal listeners – thrusting them into becoming the most voted Neo-punk band with long term potential.

After releasing their haunting emo anthem ‘End of July’ back in July 2022 – which not only became their highest grossing song in the shortest amount of time, but their first song to reach most International listeners for 3 weeks in a row with no funded marketing – Mermaid Waters return to their hard hitting sound which is presented larger than their sum, aiming to keep the international listeners and fan base engaged with their sound and thematic diversity.

Frontman/Drummer Liam M.R Chappy shares their inspiration for the upcoming single ‘Hold A Grudge’: “Sometimes you just gotta let it out. Let out the anger you’ve been bottling up in your day to day life. This song is for overtaking slow people on the highway… This song is for the kids getting bullied in school, the mosh pit, for a sport – This song is even about that 9 year old who kicked your ass in Fortnite and Lastly – this song is for my brother who ate the last Tim Tam when I was 6… I still hold a grudge man…”
