Turn up the wavs, and tune in to the crackle, because PBS Radio Festival has arrived! Celebrating and illuminating the real people, real power, and real voices that identify and shape the station as a champion of little heard music. Happening over the dates May 15 – 28, PBS will be asking for your support in helping ‘Keep It Real’ for another year. That means lights blinking and frequencies transmitting, but most importantly, ensuring radio remains real radio.

Spotlighting the role PBS’ beloved announcers play in providing a community based connection for folks via the airwaves, and in the smaller moments like when donning your favourite PBS shirt, or slapping that new bumper sticker on whatever you think needs it. Week in, week out, PBS radio is made through the hand picked and carefully considered track selections of each presenter, broadcast for listeners to tune to, wherever and however they best enjoy PBS. Whether that be on the couch with a slice of your no. 1 pizza in hand, stuck in unwavering gridlock, or in the solitude of headphones to guide you through your work day.

Any time, any day, there’s a dedicated human there for you, making real radio in real time. No algorithms, no automation, and no influence from corporate backers. A labour of love, direct from one music fan to another. My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.

Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
