Igniting an onslaught of fan-fare worldwide, MAY-A has announced her forthcoming sophomore EP Analysis Paralysis is set for release September 1 and has given us another taste of what’s to come with melancholic new single ‘LOLA’.
The single is accompanied by a video that MAY-A co-directed alongside Murli Dhir (BLESSED, ioakim, Matt Corby). Shot in Newtown, Sydney, the DIY-feel visual perfectly accompanies the tenderness of the track.
Speaking about ‘LOLA’, MAY-A says “’LOLA’ feels more nonchalant and raw (production wise) compared to the other songs on the EP. It’s written about that weird kind of feeling when you can be so pure and honest with somebody when you’re alone, but they feel like a different person in public. A strange type of self-contained isolated relationship. ‘LOLA’ is giving up on trying to get through to somebody who doesn’t seem like they want to be with you at all.”
Analysis Paralysis will feature MAY-A’s fan favourites ‘Sweat You Out My System’ and ‘Your Funeral’. With the EP, MAY-A continues to make music that pushes genre bounds and marks a new era of her artistry where she’s exploring and experimenting with new sounds and experiences.
Fans will be able to get a sneak peak of the unreleased tracks on the EP at Splendour in the Grass and on MAY-A’s upcoming national headline tour. Kicking off in Adelaide on July 28, MAY-A and the band (Chloe Dadd, G, Handsome) are taking the Never Going Back tour to Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, with shows already selling out. AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
