Today, QLD Music Trails introduces their debut Brisbane event, Sweet Relief!, a unique one-day party and springtime getaway taking place at Brisbane’s Maritime Green, Northshore on September 16, 2023.
As a world-first live music tourism event series, QLD Music Trails has joined forces with Untitled Group, Australia’s largest independently-owned music and events company and the masterminds behind festivals such as Beyond The Valley, Grapevine Gathering, and Wildlands. Brisbane Festival and Brisbane City have also teamed up with the crew, helping to bring Sweet Relief! to life this Spring. Expected to be a not-to-missed spectacle, the festival also announces Australian exclusive headlining DJ set from legendary electronic music titans hailing from the UK, Groove Armada and cult Australian dance act, The Avalanches. Alongside the stacked musical delights that await in September, Sweet Relief! will also be hosting a string of entertainment for punters to sink their toes in including carnival rides, market stalls and more.

“We’re so excited to be heading up to Brisbane to play at Maritime Green at Northshore Brisbane. It’s such a cool looking spot – we’ve got a feeling it’s gonna be a very special one,” said The Avalanches.
Sweet Relief! encourages Queenslanders and inter-staters alike to head to the sunny state’s capital and enjoy a sizzling party along the city’s riverside. United Kingdom party masters, Groove Armada will bring their influential dance super-stardom for a Brisbane-only DJ set sure to ignite the dance floor, mixing a melting pot of decades worth of non-stop hits. Joining the duo is iconic Australian act, The Avalanches who bring their dynamic live show to Sweet Relief!, performing from their award-winning back-catalogue of sampled dance music bliss. Adding to the bill will be the charismatic and all-round music personality, Latifa Tee, the legendary Nina Las Vegas, as well as iconic, vintage synthpop duo Cut Copy. Sweet Relief! will also be welcoming international groove maestra, YO! Mafia, queer dance crew Pride Patrol and skipping over the pond from New Zealand, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Ladyhawke.

Joel Edmondson, CEO of Qld Music Trails, says: “Brisbane’s history is littered with iconic festival moments such as Livid, Boundary Street Festival and Valley Fiesta that gave the Brisbane community an opportunity to bring their weirdest and wildest selves out to create an electric atmosphere of togetherness, diversity and inclusion. We hope that Sweet Relief! can establish itself as a place where people travel from around the country to experience Brisbane’s local flavour and global appeal.”
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the latest event from Qld Music Trails adds to Brisbane’s already stacked major events calendar. “Our growing city is fast becoming the place to be for lifestyle and entertainment events, with our fantastic climate and bustling hospitality scene inviting visitors to extend their weekend trips,” Cr Schrinner said. “Music lovers can dance the night away at Sweet Relief! And then rest and recover with their choice of great local shopping, dining and tourism options across our city and suburbs. We look forward to hosting more world-class events featuring local talent here in Brisbane for residents and visitors to enjoy.”

Tourism Minister, Stirling Hinchliffe said Sweet Relief! marks the much-awaited Brisbane debut for Queensland Music Trails, which staged its first events in Outback Queensland in April. “Queensland Music Trails are part of our Towards Tourism 2032 roadmap for building new experiences so that visitors can discover more of our great state,” said Minister Hinchliffe. “The Trails kicked off its uniquely Queensland musical road trip in St George back in April, winding its way to Charleville, Cunnamulla, Tambo, Canungra, Jimbour, and Cape Hillsborough.” “As well as showcasing our great musical talent and some of Queensland’s most spectacular locations, now with Sweet Relief! it’s Brisbane’s turn to take the spotlight and welcome visitors to the capital for a unique music party and so much more.”
Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said Sweet Relief! is an exciting and inclusive new music event in Queensland’s cultural calendar, with diverse live music set to be a drawcard for Queenslanders and visitors to the state. “Realised through an exciting partnership including Queensland arts companies, QMF and its Queensland Music Trails and the Brisbane Festival team, the event will showcase our fantastic local music talent alongside international and national acts, grow employment opportunities and deliver important economic and social outcomes for the state.” “Events like Sweet Relief! reinforce Queensland’s strong reputation for delivering outstanding live music events as we look to celebrate our unique arts and cultures on the global stage ahead of the Brisbane 2023 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” Ms Enoch said.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
