Winterbourne today share their enthralling new single ‘Velvet, Honey & Wine’ and after their sold-out 2023 All Pretend And Masquerade national tour left fans craving for more, announce a regional run of headline shows for August and September.
The Velvet, Honey & Wine Tour will kick off in their hometown of Gosford on Friday August 4th then onto the Gold Coast, Maroochydore, Newcastle, Canberra, Albury, Belgrave, Geelong finishing in Ballarat on Sunday September 3rd.
Following a string of single releases in 2022, the energetic ‘Long Distance Runner’ and more pensive ‘Forevermore’, Winterbourne, aka James Draper and Jordan Brady latest offering is a self-produced track, mixed by their long-time friend and collaborator Jackson Barclay who previously worked on Vera Blue, Maddy Jane and Hollow Coves.

“Velvet, Honey & Wine emerged entirely around the bass riff that introduces the song. We originally wrote the riff in 2018 to a bouncy drum loop in an attempt to write an ABBA-esque Bop with strong indie rock flavours and a tight and bouncy rhythm attached to it at every stage and a whisper-like yet singable melody, which eventually makes its way into a soaring three-part vocal harmony”, says James from the band. “It’s a new sound we have been waiting to share, but at the same time, it is undoubtedly a Winterbourne’ song”.
With a growing 37 million global streams to their name, Winterbourne, not only have a hands-on approach to writing, recording and producing but they also drive the creative and execution of their videos and artwork. While the exquisite video shot for ‘Long Distance Runner’ brought them around NSW, VIC, QLD to look for the most refined locations and outfits, ‘Velvet, Honey & Wine’ video was entirely filmed in the picturesque and chilly NSW Blue Mountains with a more playful approach. The result is an intriguing and weirdly compelling visual redemption of this up-tempo euphonious song.

With an impressive list of sold-out tours and festival appearances, Winterbourne pride themselves on their captivating live presence. On stage, James and Jordan are a refreshingly unique and energetic exhibition of musical tightness and indulgent banter – a style that they have honed through many years of continuous touring and friendship. The band has played to packed theatre venues across Australia, selling out numerous National Tours, toured multiple times the UK and Europe and appeared on the stage at notable international festivals including Reeperbahn Festival in Germany and Break Out West Festival in Canada.
During 2021, Winterbourne launched into their first venture in the world of cinema, with ‘Revolutionary, Film’. The movie, based upon their 2019 Sydney Metro Theatre Sold Out show during the Echo Of Youth Tour, premiered to sold out vintage cinemas along the East Coast of Australia and was written, directed, edited and produced by James and Jordan. The 90 min movie grappled with questions of ambition, nostalgia, reflection and of course, revolution, along the way. The film precluded the release of a live album entitled A Brand New November (2021).

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
