EZRA COLLECTIVE.
Astral People & Handsome Tours are excited to present the return of Ezra Collective.
Plunging into Australian shores this November for a string of dates – Ezra Collective come at the peak of their powers. The heavyweight collective will light up sweaty dance floors in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Strawberry Fields Festival with their trademark cool confidence and bright energy.
The UK’s new jazz renaissance has been well documented in recent years. Standing at the forefront since a scene’s global outbreak has been Ezra Collective.
The 5-piece of virtuosic talent, both respectfully pay homage to a classic jazz blueprint whilst simultaneously transforming the craft to something that of their own. An all-star collective (all accomplished in their own right) drummer/bandleader Femi Koleoso, bassist TJ Koleoso, trumpeter Ife Ogunjobi, saxophonist James Mollison and keyboardist Joe Armon-Jones collide with permeable impact. Their winding hybrid sound – marrying the delicate technicalities of jazz musicianship with afrobeats, grime and hip hop – tied together by a sound that’s unmistakably London has captivated the world.
Ezra Collective’s debut EP Juan Pablo: The Philosopher and follow up album You Can’t Steal My Joy garnered much critical praise and brought UK Jazz to unseen heights. Recognised as one of the hottest live shows going, they’ve lit up countless venues and festivals, including an essential Glastonbury performance, while also shining in the prestige of Ronnie Scotts or Blue Note, NY. This August they will headline Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here, the festival born out of the landmark compilation of which EC also shined. As their journey continues there’s been noteworthy collaborations with the likes of JME and Swindle, touted by Annie Mac as “hottest record of the year” and Novelist, while the band have gained further attention through noteworthy Tiny Desk and Boiler Room sessions.
Ezra Collective’s latest album Where I’m Meant To Be is an affirming elevation in the band’s voice and refined collective character. A thumping celebration of life, the album features Sampa The Great, Kojey Radical, Emile Sandé, Steve McQueen, and Nao. Full of call-and-response conversations between their ensemble parts, a natural product of years improvising together on-stage.
With sold-out spring and summer shows and long-awaited big label support from Partisan Records, ambition and excitement are running at an all-time high. Ezra Collective is back – bigger and better and bolder than ever before. Get elevated by joyous rapture and masterful musicianship across the country. Essential experiences for the soul.

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
