Following the long awaited EP “Greetings from Sunny Coburg”, Bailey Judd is ready to enter into a new era of BJ with this fresh new track “Precious Gold” set to release on September 1st. An undeniably funky Benson-esque sound, laced in all the glitz and glam of early 80s jazz-pop, Bailey Judd is bringing the old into the new with this hip-moving track.
Bailey Judd, known for his ridiculous musical proficiency, determination to be the master of all trades, and penchant for wearing his heart on his sleeve, once again shows us why he is renowned and respected within the Melbourne music scene. With an unrivalled ability to be both incredibly multi-skilled with all aspects of music and production, as well as being unapologetically honest and down to earth, Bailey Judd is fast becoming every musician’s favourite artist. Bailey Judd holds a personal philosophy to “hide the vegetables in the bolognese ” in regards to music. His jazz training permeates this delicious pop sound in the most seamless way, bringing all the musical complexities that he has come to love and respect into an aesthetic that is approachable and accessible for everyone to appreciate. The guitar led sound that we have come to love from BJ has transformed from what was an angry lock-down driven angst into a smooth and bougie groove train. Holding all of the energy and character of his last body of work, Bailey Judd invites us into his new era of cheesy and shameless love. Falling in line with artists such as Silk Sonic, Theo Katzman, and calling on past sounds from George Benson and Hall and Oates, “Precious Gold” feels so new but so familiar at the same time.
