Hydrofunk Records are excited to announce the next chapter for THE BOY OF MANY COLORS, with his new single ‘GONDWANA’ available on all digital platforms Here on Friday September 15.

THE BOY OF MANY COLORS keeps it short, sweet, and shiny, spitting heavy bars about the grimey and goodness on this latest offering ‘GONDWANA’.  Originally a one take written by his local river, ‘GONDWANA’ follows on from ‘Take Me Back’ and is the third track to be lifted from his forthcoming self-titled debut album.

The video for ‘GONDWANA’ was filmed in the gorgeous grasslands of Coedie’s local river. Skilfully shot by his business partner (Co-founder of ONETIME PRODUCTIONS) cousin and fellow performer Jaymen Drahm. The clip shows Coedie tracking through the swamplands chasing Guriman (grey kangaroo) while being stalked by an unseen eye. The backdrop is sometimes greyish referencing the creation stories of when everything was empty and void.

THE BOY OF MANY COLORS has delivered a string of singles including ‘All The Same’‘Got You’‘Do It For’‘Hungy’ and collaborations with Kira Divine ‘Dance So Wildly’ and ‘When A Tree Falls’ Feat. Emily Wurramara, all building up to the release of his self-titled 12 track record which will be out Friday October 27 2023 through Hydrofunk Records & MGM.

Indigenous rapper, producer, dancer, visual designer, and editor Coedie Ochre Warrah McCarthy is THE BOY OF MANY COLORS That Came In The Falling Rain, which is the traditional meaning and translation of his name, and the inspiration behind the title of this project. Coedie is also a founding member, vocalist and Didgeridoo player with Byron Bay based 4-peice Indigenoise.

His tribes are the Yidinji Bar Burrum & Mamu of North QLD, and he was born in a place called Koonorigan on Bunjalung (butterfly) country where he grew up with many elders teaching him culture, dance and art. Showcasing his culture with them for years he took up Hip hop on the side and the results are a combination of tribal and modern music where the past and future meet. His totem animals are cassowary and possum.
