“Like many of Cassy’s previous releases, ‘Arse’ has Cassy’s expert storytelling at its core, as she tells us of a relationship with a girl who got away. . . Of a secondhand car that was pushed to its limits. . . And all of these things have one thing in common: they died, in the arse.”
FROOTY MAG – ‘Arse’ Single/Video PremiereAfter a series of comically insightful Singles and EPs over recent years, Sydney’s Cassy Judy has released her debut album ‘Body Parts’ (September 22), featuring the single ‘Arse’ with a video montage of Cassy’s renowned live performances.
Cassy and her band are celebrating with a hometown launch show at Sydney’s Qtopia Bandstand on September 24 and a Canberra show at Smith’s Alternative on October 7.
The album is a slightly madcap and hilarious tour of the body – from the country twang of the ‘Toe-Sucking Texan Strikes Again’ to the catchy singalong-ability of ‘Arse’ – the ‘Body Parts’ album has all the makings of a deadset Aussie classic! Filled with witticisms, double entendre and clever wordplay, ‘Body Parts’ AKA ‘Cassy’s Untold Story Of Gender Transition’ is both a musical gem and side-splittingly funny! These songs have been road-tested on live audiences who have pleaded for their imminent release.
Cassy weaves together these improbable themes backed by Lindy Morrison (The Go-Betweens), Alison Gould (Snarski Circus Lindy Band) and Sydney live music stalwart Russel Neal (lead guitar).
Cassy has performed at the National Folk Festival, Broken Heel Festival and Coastal Twist and is a regular fixture of the Queer Live music scene in Sydney with crowd-pleasing appearances at Trans Glamore, Queer as Fvck and the Townie.
“I remember that moment, I was down for the count, on the floor two piles of clothes, a bright way forward, a dark way out.”
These lines from Cassy’s song ‘Penis’ describe the fork in the road before progressing a social and medical transition. “So many people say I’m brave and I knew the road ahead would be hard but it felt infinitely better than checking out of life. Many trans people I’ve spoken to describe a similar decision point. I knew the road ahead would not be smooth, but its definitely worthwhile.”

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
