One of the most distinctive voices in Australian music, The Kite String Tangle aka Danny Harley today shares his much-anticipated third LP, Lustre out today via Warner Music Australia along with new track ‘Hide and Seek’ – listen to Lustre here.

The Kite String Tangle is bringing his euphoric blend of live electronic music back to airwaves (and airpods) with Lustre. 2023 finds The Kite String Tangle more assured than ever of the path ahead, one that’s filled with pulsating, moody electronica underpinning playful vocals delving into brighter, more positive themes. “It’s probably the happiest I’ve ever been with a record… I feel like it’s more cohesive, there’s themes of positivity and change, which have been for the greater good” Danny shares.
Lustre features The Kite String Tangles first propulsive single ‘Fist Fight’, a drama-drenched slice of club-ready electronica as well as instrumentals that effortlessly traverses the spaces between darkness and light, like the tribal-infused ‘Euclidean’ and glitched out ‘Good Catch’. The 12 x track record also features ‘A New Day’, a single that perfectly encapsulates the entire mood of Lustre’s look-ahead attitude. “No matter what happens you’ll wake up tomorrow and can make different choices and create your own new path and that idea is really liberating.”
As well as his most recent release ‘Miles Away’, at once a driving, almost proggy take on house music, propelled forward by Harley’s signature soaring vocals that feels like the producer himself is picking listeners up to come on this journey with him. “It doesn’t feel like I’m doing the same kind of music I was doing three years ago, and definitely not six years ago, so it feels like progression and I hope it resonates with people, but most importantly it resonates with me…

About THE KITE STRING TANGLE
The Kite String Tangle is the musical project of Brisbane/Meanjin-based, twice ARIA nominated artist, producer and label owner Danny Harley. Since his Gold Certified debut single ‘Given the Chance’ back in 2013 (#19 in triple j’s Hottest 100), he has built a following around the world with his distinctive sound and engaging live performances.
His debut EP Vessel features hit breakout single ‘Arcadia’ (voted #15 in triple j’s Hottest 100) and has racked up 25 million streams on Spotify alone. Then followed his debut album, The Kite String Tangle in 2017, which earned him critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. Not one to sit still, the prolific singer songwriter crafted a mini-album entitled In A Desperate Moment in 2018 to accompany his sold out shows with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. In 2020 he released his second album C()D3X which saw him win the 2020 Queensland Music Award (QMA) for Best Dance Song and Best Video (‘P()L4R’).
The Kite String Tangle has a reputation of being a world-class live act. He’s sold out headline shows of his own as well as supported Rufus Du Sol, Odesza and London Grammar and performed at Festivals including Falls, Splendour In The Grass, Groovin The Moo, FOMO and has made a guest appearance at Coachella.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
