Following the release of his instantly engaging offerings ‘Cardboard Box Apartment’, and ‘Someone Like Me’, emerging pop talent ISHAN has truly arrived. From busking on Melbourne’s famed Bourke Street Mall, to taking over national airwaves, ISHAN is quickly proving himself as one to watch. Today, the Melbourne/Naarm singer-songwriter releases his debut EP ‘The Cycle of Codependence’.

The EP weaves a narrative through ISHAN’s exciting and tumultuous first relationship, and is tied together by his signature anecdotal style of writing that is just a touch too specific not to be real. ISHAN’s music is characterised by soaring vocals, catchy melodies and genuine emotion, with the five songs showcasing a blend of modern pop, indie acoustic singer-songwriter and pop rock.  ISHAN shares, “The five tracks on this EP tell a connected story that couldn’t be more personal and heartfelt. This is a body of work that steps you through the biggest adventure of my life so far, without sparing the details. There is no vitriol or posturing, only the strongest feelings of love and pain I’ve ever experienced.”

The EP opens with the luscious pop ballad ‘Counting Clouds’ with ISHAN’s soothing and buttery vocals complimenting the effortless songwriting. With gliding guitar licks, and nuanced pop melodies, ‘Counting Clouds’ showcases a young talent beyond his years, whilst lyrically the single speaks to the entangled feelings of hope and fear in a new relationship. The next track on the EP is the upbeat ‘Cardboard Box Apartment’, which oozes all the excitement and butterflies that comes with new love and the first big steps taken together.‘The Blue’, a fiery and passionate pop-rock anthem, sustains the energy as ISHAN shares the feelings of frustration with a loved one he so desperately wanted to help. Slowing things down on the next track, ‘An Impromptu Hug’ is everything the name suggests; a soft, stunning ballad with ISHAN reflecting on the demise of his relationship. And closing out the EP, ‘Someone Like Me’ is a return to bright, summery, pop soundscapes, with an equally uplifting message about knowing and loving yourself.

Having released only a small handful of records since early 2022, ISHAN is quickly gaining widespread traction with support across the Hit Network, JOY 94.9, ACE Network, SYN, Rolling Stone Australia, Tone Deaf, Apple Music, The Nine Network and more.

The young musician has become a staple of Melbourne’s acclaimed busking circuit, regularly stunning audiences at the famed Bourke Street Mall with his transcendent vocals, guitar work and ‘one man band’ live looping.
