Traversing and blurring the boundaries of indie, dance, pop and rock, the album captures a night out like a flurry of Polaroids — from the larger than life moments swinging from the rafters in a club, to the tender flashes as the night finds its close. ‘Arcadia’ amalgamates euphoria, contemplation, sincerity and integrity, all whilst being memorable and danceable. The trio’s contrast and contemporary ambivalence also sees them evolve from a band that were finding their feet, to one that draws comparisons to Bloc Party, Gang Of Youths and Talking Heads.

STUMPS’ powerful debut album ‘All Our Friends’ released in December 2020 cemented the band’s vision and overall direction for the project. NME described the album as “A riotous pastiche of classic indie disco sounds that throws back to sticky club dance-floors and late-night singalongs”, while Mixdown Magazine proclaimed the trio as “One of the brightest bands in Australia’s indie rock scene today.” The focus single ‘Mt. Pleasant’ also saw the band synced during the opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics Australian broadcast. The track then continued to theme the remainder of the nation’s Paralympics coverage.
The Sydney trio have built a loyal fanbase since their inception in 2017, winning audiences over nationally via their headline shows, festival slots such as Lost Paradise, Yours & Owls & NYE On The Hill, and supports for the likes of Ball Park Music, The Temper Trap and Tyne-James Organ. Don’t miss STUMPS live across the country in April 2024 with special guest The Tullamarines.

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
