Music workers like Jo
urgently need your support
this festive season

Dear Friends
Last year, Jo was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The diagnosis put her straight out of her full time job and onto Centrelink.
“Centrelink Job seeker payment was $60 a week less than my rent. I was not eligible for a disability pension as I was not terminal and I couldn’t access my superannuation. I continued to work as much as I could through chemotherapy however I couldn’t make ends meet.”
Having worked in the music industry for decades, a friend suggested that Jo should approach Support Act. We were able to help her with rent assistance and pharmacy costs related to her treatment.
“I am humbled and very grateful to have this assistance; as I really don’t know what I could have done without the assistance from Support Act. Special mention for Angela for her empathy and care and Jim for paying the accounts.”
After another difficult year, many, like Jo, continue to struggle to make ends meet, including paying for groceries, rent, utilities and medical bills.
If you can, please donate now and help us put food on the table this Christmas for the music workers in need.
Donate now
Thank you in advance for your love and support for music, and those who create it.
Sincerely,
Anne Jacobs

P.S. The Support Act Wellbeing Helpline will operate as normal throughout the Christmas/New Year period and can be accessed by calling 1800 959 500. You don’t need to be in crisis to call, sometimes you just need to talk it out.
Our social workers are taking a well-earned break from 21 December – 2 January. Applications received now may be processed before closure, however any approved payments will be made in the New Year. Crisis Relief Grant applications received during the closure period will be assessed in January 2024.
Support Act acknowledges and pays its respects to First Nations peoples and recognises the role of intergenerational song practitioners in establishing the rich and diverse music practices that exist today.

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
