Returning to the stunning St Kilda Foreshore and surrounds, St Kilda Festival, the annual two-day celebration of Australian music will take place 17 – 18 February. Presented by City of Port Phillip, the free Festival has announced an amazing line-up of home-grown talent and fun for all ages, for its 43rd year. The Saturday will again showcase a huge line-up of First Peoples’ talent, followed by the traditional Big Festival Sunday.

First Peoples First – 17 February, 10am – 9pm

An incredible line-up of First Nations artists will present a jam-packed day and night of music for First Peoples First. The Main Stage and the O’Donnell Gardens Stage will feature Mo’Ju, Birren, Charlie Needs Braces, Pirritu, The Merindas, Ziggy Ramo, and many more.

First Peoples First will conclude with a sunset ceremony at Main Stage, Kummargii Yulendji Gadabah (Together we rise up with knowledge).

Big Festival Sunday – 18 February, 10am – 10pm

The much-loved Big Festival Sunday will see thousands flock to the foreshore and beyond for the best in live music, market stalls, community groups and more. The Main Stage overlooking the St Kilda Foreshore will feature Bag Raiders, Budjerah, Mallrat, Thandi Phoenix, Mark Seymour & the Undertow, 1300, and last year’s New Music Competition Winner, Julian Munyard.

Also returning to both Saturday and Sunday of the Festival is Singing Our Futures, presented by the Archie Roach Foundation. Other Sunday programming includes:

The Cointreau Summer Stage (18+) at Catani Gardens will feature performances from Northeast Party House, Gut Health, J-MILLA, Forest Claudette and more.

The Triangle Stage features RVG, Platonic Sex, Cool Sounds, Chikchika, The Slingers, and Big Words.

The Locals Stage at Acland Plaza will showcase performances from JHM, Bailey Judd, Tanya George, The Miffs and more.

The O’Donnell Gardens Stage will feature family programming in the first half of the day, with the likes of Riot Baby, Team Dream, Woody’s World and more. The line-up shifts gear from 3pm, with performances from The Heights, Adam Noviello, Telenova and more.

The New Music Stage presented by JBL will see the 10 finalists of the New Music Competition each perform a 40-minute set, with the winner walking away with $5000 as well as a coveted invitation to perform on the St Kilda Festival Main Stage in 2025.

In total, more than 60 acts will take to multiple stages for Australia’s biggest free music festival, plus roving performers and buskers will entertain throughout the precinct, from 10am – 10pm.

This highly anticipated event showcases everything from the biggest names in Australian music to family-friendly activities and entertainment, set against the scenic backdrop of St Kilda’s foreshore, and nearby vibrant Fitzroy and Acland Streets in the midst of the St Kilda live music precinct.”

St Kilda Festival Lead Sullivan Patten said: “We are incredibly excited to celebrate this country’s talented and eclectic music makers at St Kilda Festival. We are thrilled to give audiences a taste of artists they know and love, as well as the opportunity to discover fresh talent on stages like the New Music Stage”.

St Kilda Festival’s diverse program features live Australian music, dance performances, workshops, sports demonstrations, community group activities, food and market stalls, extended business trading, roving entertainment and a dedicated family-entertainment zone. Renowned as one of Australia’s largest and longest running free music and cultural events, the Festival brings significant economic benefits to St Kilda while celebrating and promoting Australian talent. The Festival has seen many formats since its inception more than 40 years ago, regularly attracting more than 400,000 visitors to the foreshore.
