This Valentine’s Day, Australia’s first direct-to-fan vinyl brand Impressed Recordings and Studio LB join forces to present an exclusive collaboration for the perfect celebration with your loved ones. On offer are beautiful, limited edition copies of GC OConnor’s new EP Soul Lament on custom powder pink vinyl. Add in exclusive hand-written lyrics on each vinyl label, and it’s an extra special gift for your loved one.

An unwavering presence in the local music world, multi-instrumentalist and composer GC OConnor has been quietly dropping gems as she readies her debut EP, self-described as a “bedroom soundtrack”. Soul Lament is the kind of assured, accomplished record that refreshes the soul. Replete with intimacy and connection, its songs embody a fertile scene in Australian music that deserves celebrating.

For this special release, there’s only two hundred copies pressed, each adorned with heavyweight pink vinyl and accompanied by an individually numbered obi strip. Twenty-five of these copies – exclusively available at Clay by LB – are pressed with white labels, with handwritten lyrics on the label from GC OConnor herself, for a unique, personal touch. Paired with candlestick holders Hestia or Turgmam – included are two tapered dinner candlesticks in eco-wax as their Valentine’s gift to you to enjoy those candle-lit nights.

Formed in cafes and on strolls through Bondi over the course of 2023, Impressed is the culmination of relationships between contemporaries with a shared love of great music. It’s a diverse team of collaborators, whose collective background spans everything from the world’s biggest tech company to some of the most exciting start-ups in Australia, taking in record labels, advertising agencies, a pressing plant, challenger brands and even intellectual property law.
