Melbourne based Alternative Rock singer/songwriter Markus Saastamoinen has just released his new single and music video ‘The Day That I Met You’, which premiered exclusively via Backseat Mafia.

.
The single is taken from his upcoming album release ‘Falling Up’ (out on March 15).
“The song is about remembering the day that I met my girl and the anticipation of finally seeing her again after those few years. How I would feel seeing her, all the things I wanted to say to her, how I would tell her how I felt about her and how she made me feel! The music for the song came from a riff that I came up with on holiday in Finland a few years ago. It never fit as a rock song and only worked when I discovered it should be a ballad.”

Markus Saastamoinen creates a unique brand of Alternative Rock music. The accomplished musician engages his listeners with distinctive melodies and cerebral composition. After years of playing in a broad variety of Australian Rock bands, Markus released his first full-length release as a solo artist in 2020. Markus teamed up with legendary mix engineer Peter ‘Reggie’ Bowman (Southern Sons).
Markus is now ready to unleash his latest masterpiece to the world.
New single ‘The Day That I Met You’ is available for purchase and streaming on all major online stores.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
