& Jake Wardwell
for solo AU headline shows
– February 2024+Tour kicks off next week!
Frontier Touring are excited to announce Peter “Blackie” Black and Jake Wardwell will join legendary alternative rocker J Mascis for his upcoming exclusive solo Australian headline shows this month.
Kicking off his first headline show next week in Sydney on Tuesday 20 February at Mary’s Underground and performing a second solo show in Brisbane on Saturday 24 February at The Triffid, J Mascis is also down under for a series of headline shows with Dinosaur Jr. celebrating 30 years of their history-making album, Where You Been.
Known best as the guitarist for legendary Sydney punk rock powerhouse the Hard-Ons, Peter “Blackie” Black will join J Mascis as a special guest in Sydney. Now performing as a soloist, “Blackie” released his first solo album Break Bread With The Mono Brows in 2010. Followed up by 2017’s Maybe If I Took My Headphones Off and 2020’s If This Is The Hand I’m Dealt, “Blackie” has taken his solo projects across the globe, touring in Australia, Europe and Japan. A legend in the Australian music industry, don’t miss Peter “Blackie” Black live at J Mascis’ solo Sydney show.
Joining J Mascis as a special guest in Brisbane is singer and guitarist Jake Wardwell. Raised in Hartford, Connecticut, Wardwell inherited his love of music from his father. A multi-faceted musician, with experience as a drummer and guitarist performing on the club/festival circuit, Jake founded and performed in alt-rock bands Brotherhood of Thieves and Eat Fire Spring. Recently lending his guitar skills on Lou Barlow of Dinosaur Jr.’s latest single, Jake will take to the stage in Brisbane to perform tracks from his latest project The Drowsy View.
Tickets for J Mascis’ solo headline shows with special guests Peter “Blackie” Black and Jake Wardwell are on sale now via frontiertouring.com/jmascis.
With a long-standing musical career spanning more than 40 years, J Mascis has long been performing as part of history-making band Dinosaur Jr. Notoriously laid-back and ever the silent achiever, J is known for his rare, under-the-radar live presence, letting the music well and truly speaking for itself. With a live set that continues to impress, fans stand in awe and let the musician get to work.
“J’s solos are still as hypnotising as always” The Ransom Note
“An awe inspiring performance by one of the greatest guitarists to ever walk the earth, a set performed with the utmost ease” – Louder Than War
A multi-faceted musician with a live set for the history books, don’t miss the phenomenal J Mascis in these exclusive solo headline shows in February 2024.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
