Drunk Mums announce their most extensive national tour to date, with headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. The announcement comes alongside their latest single and accompanying music video, ‘New Australia,’ a raw and powerful preview from their upcoming album, Beer Baby, scheduled for release on March 7.

Described as a “reminder that cool songs can emerge from mundane places,” the track’s genesis lies in songwriter Jake Doyle’s experience working for Toll in a vast warehouse near Melbourne Airport.  “It was seriously one of the worst jobs I’ve ever had—proper robot work with no praise.” Jake wrote the lyrics for the song during his shifts, providing an outlet for his discontent and capturing the collective sentiment of a workforce trapped in monotonous, underappreciated roles.

The accompanying video, filmed and edited by Wild Rose Pictures, shows the band in their natural habitat, drinking beers and thrashing away at punk riffs. Set against the backdrop of desolate, abandoned sites in the west of Melbourne, the video’s quick cut-aways perfectly encapsulate the carefree spirit that defines Drunk Mums.

Their forthcoming album, aptly named Beer Baby, was recorded at Hothouse Audio (Franz Ferdinand, Jet) with Jez Giddings (Clowns, Kingswood). Featuring ‘New Australia’ and the Jan single ‘Livin’ At Night,’ the album delivers ten relentless, no-holds-barred party anthems, leaving no room for sadness, emotions, or rational thinking. It follows the release of their 2018 album Urban Cowboy, which earned them airplay across PBS, Triple R, FBi, 4ZZZ, Edge and Radio Adelaide, as well as spins on tastemaker US radio station KEXP. The band have received praise from Beat, The Music, Life Without Andy and Sydney Morning Herald, and their fourth studio album is eagerly anticipated by fans and critics alike.

Formed in 2011, Drunk Mums, consisting of Jake Doyle, Adam Ritchie, Dean Whitby and Jonny Badlove, have released 3 LPs and 3 EPs across their teenage lifespan, totalling over 50 original releases and clocking over 30 million streams.

With a track record of delivering electrifying shows, Drunk Mums have played festivals such as Laneway, BIGSOUND, and Boogie and supported Amyl and the Sniffers, Richie Ramone, and Guitar Wolf.  Coming in well-practised from their UK/EU run throughout March and April, the Australian tour promises to be a wild celebration of unbridled energy and infectious chaos.
