Following the announcement of his seventh studio album ‘Things Were Never Good If They’re Not Good Now’ (set for release on the 12th of July via End Times Music), Canadian artist Donovan Woods has shared the announcement of his first trip down under; with a 7 date tour on Australian shores set for June 2024.

The Juno award-winning singer/songwriter will be hitting stages in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane this year – with supports yet to be announced. Throughout his distinguished career, Donovan Woods has built a devoted following who cling to the songwriter’s every word. Never one to mince them, Woods is one of music’s most vulnerable storytellers and on his forthcoming studio album, Donovan takes that a step further.
Honest and unflinching, on Things Were Never Good If They’re Not Good Now Woods takes a long look inside and isn’t necessarily thrilled with what he sees. For an artist who isn’t afraid to bear his soul, this is as emotionally gritty as he has ever been. Long known as a masterful storyteller, Woods is at his absolute best on Things Were Never Good If They’re Not Good Now.

Since he released his first album a decade ago, Donovan Woods’ blend of folk, country and pop has resonated with audiences all over the world. In recent years, the acclaimed, award-winning singer-songwriter has seen his profile grow with his breakthrough album, Without People. Touring behind (2020’s) Without People saw Woods play to his largest audiences to date, including a stint opening for New Jersey-based retro rockers Gaslight Anthem on their recent reunion tour.
He currently sports an impressive 741k+ monthly listeners on Spotify, with over 105m streams for his track ‘Portland, Maine’ (which was featured on season 1 of The CW’s ‘Legacies’, and was originally recorded and performed by Tim Mcgraw).
Donovan is partnering with Support Act for the tour and donating $1 for every ticket sold, supporting music industry professionals across the country with crisis relief, mental health and wellbeing support. With a big year in front of him in the lead up to and following the release of his upcoming LP, these intimate shows in June are not to be missed!

PRAISE
“There are very few writers who can make you laugh and break your heart in the same song.”
NPR Music
“Everyone has their favorites, but this guy should be everyone’s favorite right now because he sounds like Donovan Woods and not like everyone else and writes to beat the devil…”
No Depression
“Woods makes memorable hooks and melodies out of heartbreak, jealousy, and loneliness that feel so obvious, so natural, casual listeners may not stop to appreciate just how gifted he is His talent truly shines on Hard Settle, Ain’t Troubled, an album easy to love and hard to forget”
Quick Before It Melts
“NNNN – Donovan Woods has built a career on melancholia, crafting wistful songs that tug at the heartstrings of anyone who’s had feelings about partners, ex-partners, where you’re from, where you shouldn’t have gone. His fourth album follows in those footsteps, but with the assured sharpness of an old pro. Hard Settle, Ain’t Troubled is his most solid album in a catalogue full of them.”
Now Magazine
“Sparse and intimate, Donovan Woods… feels like you’ve joined him in a closet full of winter coats so that he can whisper a few anecdotes that belong in your ears only.”

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
