With only a handful of releases to his name, Newcastle’s LUPO.THEBOY, aka Matteo Verde, has quickly become known for his emotionally charged electronic productions. With a focus on live shows, the project is a direct result of playing late nights in dark clubs, inspiring the sample heavy and moving releases. Already receiving high praise across triple j, Unearthed, and Acid Stag alike, sharing “LUPO.THEBOY ensures that perfect levels of tranquillity and uplift are maintained.” Today, LUPO.THEBOY releases another luscious display of his musicality with his new single ‘Perfect Plate’. The record highlights a new sense of confidence in his production including the beautifully crafted melodic piano lines, endless sonic textures, and moreover, the use of his own vocals for the very first time.

Closing the loop on his last release ‘Nobody Will Love You’, LUPO shares “it’s an uplifting anthem dedicated to love, curiosity and vulnerability. I wrote NWLY in a pretty weird mindset, but with ‘Perfect Plate’, it was the opposite. It felt like closing out the story from headnoise and heartbreak to confidence and contentment.”

Further sharing how the production came together, LUPO details “the piano line is the standout feature of the track for me. I wrote an ambient loop with some lowkey drums, hit record and layered a stack of piano over the loop. What you hear in the track is still that original recording, mistakes and all. It’s also the first track featuring my own vocals. Which ties into that confidence the song references, it took a lot of convincing to get my takes on there, but I wanted to give it a shot, and make it something that was truly mine.”

LUPO.THEBOYS’s 2022 debut release ‘Hear You’, was an emotive and fast paced melodic techno track that gained immediate traction with consistent radio play and support worldwide. Having signed with Sweat It Out’s sister label, LOVE CLVB, soon after his debut, LUPO’s string of follow up releases continued to build momentum and his position in Australia’s dance music landscape. ‘Shelter’, ‘Echo’ and ‘Nobody Will Love You’ have secured his name on the list of artist’s to watch, having gained support across Spotify, Apple Music, and triple j, with the 3rd becoming his most notable release to date after being featured as a “pick of the day” on triple j drive.

Becoming known for his energetic and diverse performances, LUPO blends the worlds between live and DJ sets. With the former showcasing his musical aptitude and the latter his experienced ability to move between crowds seamlessly.  His stellar list of supports include, Justin Martin, Young Franco, K.I.M (The Presets), Crooked Colours, POOLCLVB and official tour support for both Client Liaison and RAAVE TAPES.
