Brisbane indie-punk quartet Semantics make their return for 2024, with the delivery of I FEEL IT ALL AT ONCE – their much-anticipated sophomore album, to be released on September 27, via legendary U.S label SideOneDummy Records.Today, the band also drop a video for the lead single Love Language, which sees the debut of their mascot Ser Mantics the knight.
On Love Language, lead vocalist / guitarist Callum Robinson says “Some of the songs on the album are like lightning strikes. Other songs take a while to write. ‘Love Language’ is one of the lightning strikes. It wrote itself in a day.”
“Lyrically, it’s tapping into the complexities of communication styles and love languages which can create barriers in meaningful relationships. The protagonist is a little narcissistic, I’m trying to look inward on when I can be difficult to read/relate to due to my ADHD/anxiety-fuelled reactive personality”
Representing a bright new chapter for the group, I FEEL IT ALL AT ONCE builds on a diverse range of sonic influences; crushing riffs, soaring melodies and introspective, open songwriting coming together in producing Semantics’ most cohesive and definitive work to date.
Across its eleven tracks, I FEEL IT ALL AT ONCE encapsulates a broad emotional spectrum; snapshots of life’s experiences, journeying themes of grief, love, yearning and ultimately, acceptance. Semantics are a band who have proven in the past that they are unafraid to explore darker themes and subject matter but even then, they displayed a talent for doing it in a way that felt healthy and cathartic.
Here, we see a band who has navigated the ups and downs of the last few years of life, relationships and growth, emerging from it tighter than ever. Musically, the vision for their future has never felt more positive.

Semantics have cemented their name and reputation into the Brisbane music scene since their formation in 2017. With multiple national Australian tours under their belt supporting the likes of Luca Brasi, Violent Soho, Sly Withers, The Menzingers and many other artists – and with legendary Los Angeles label SideOneDummy pushing their music worldwide since the release of their debut LP PAINT ME BLUE, the band have been garnering a passionate and loyal fanbase worldwide.
