After ILUKA shared snippets of ‘Cry Evil!’ online, it immediately went viral, racking up 5 million views across TikTok and Instagram, with fans all over the world pleading with her to drop the full song.
With its speaker-rattling, anthemic immediacy that will have you foot-stomping from the opening line and howling along to the chorus, it’s no wonder that it has sent fans into a frenzy. Written as a fierce and bold reclamation of female autonomy at a time when a woman’s right to her own body is so under threat, ILUKA declares the feminine as ‘lethal’ who must ultimately ‘cry evil!’
With her distinctive Janis Joplin meets Stevie Nicks vocal styling, paired with the pop sensibility of Adele, ILUKA’s new material is more gutsy, raw and unapologetic than ever, as she fast becomes an exciting new voice in pop music.

‘Cry Evil’ is the second song from ILUKA’s upcoming sophomore release, the Haunted One EP, which is slated to be released on Friday 20 September. The first single, and the EP’s namesake, Haunted One, received widespread support globally. Prior to that, her debut album Queen of Turbulent Hearts, was heavily supported across Spotify and Apple Music, as well as triple j and NOVA.
Having also gone viral for her take on Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’, ILUKA has racked up over 8 million views for her unique rework of the cult-classic, sung from the perspective of Jolene herself.
Another notable highlight comes via ILUKA’s collaboration with Lime Cordiale, a summery ode to Saturday night which was dubbed “One of the year’s most impressive collaborations” by Rolling Stone Australia and an “Instant banger” by NME. Fashion powerhouse Elle Magazine has also featured ILUKA as ‘One to Watch’.
Now, having relocated from Australia to Los Angeles, ILUKA has been busy in the studio writing music with ARIA-winning producer Dave Hammer (Lime Cordiale, Benee, Genesis Owusu), ARIA nominated producer Aidan Hogg (G-Flip, Jaguar Jonze, Evie Irie) and renowned LA-based producer Sam Shrieve (Tove Lo, Hilary Duff, Victoria Justice). Kicking off with ‘Cry Evil!’, ILUKA is embarking on her most authentic and exciting musical chapter to date, with a string of singles leading up to the Haunted One EP release on Fri 20 Sept.
