Thanks to all the crew and dancers Custard open up the house… so come on in.
Deep into their residency… every album adds more rooms to their expansive dwelling. Every room comes with its very own songbook and fills the world with the light of their sounds.
All roads taken lead to this next tune from Suburban Curtains – SOMEDAY – anchored in the pleasant scent of emotional connection as we push and pull our way through love. Doorways into matters both past and present… this zippy tune of joy hits the ground running and steals your heart flatout!
Someday featuring the powerhouse vocals of Canadian singer-songwriter Serena Ryder! Known for her soulful voice and hits like ‘Stompa’ and ‘Weak in the Knees’ – Serena brings an emotional depth to the song that perfectly complements its themes of love’s twists and turns.
“Serena and I wrote this song together ages ago, one evening at Sarah Longhurst’s (dearly departed Custard manager during the 90s). It lay dormant for decades, but we whipped it out and now it sounds positively futuristic” says Custard singer Dave McCormack.
Serena Ryder says “For our darling Longee’s pot of music soup in the sky, another song to drink into and remember her by“.
Believe every word and note of it. Someday, we might just meet again at the end of the street.
SERENA RYDER
Toronto-based vocal powerhouse Serena Ryder is a platinum-selling artist adored by fans, peers and critics alike, in part due to her raw and earnest songwriting, and beautifully electric live performances. She has received numerous accolades, including six prestigious JUNO Awards, a MuchMusic Video Award for Best Rock Video for “Stompa.”, and a Canadian Screen Award for Achievement in Music–Original Song. On her new album, The Art of Falling Apart, Serena invites listeners to join her mental wellness journey and helps us understand the importance of sitting with the uncomfortable moments and the wisdom in their messages. Over a driving pop sound bursting with irresistible rhythms, pulsing bass lines, and the full range of her powerful and expressive voice, she pulls listeners through her own winding, transformational journey, detailing despair, toxic relationships, and breakdowns alongside hope, joy, and big, big love.

Responding to suggestions that they have always been nothing more than a primitive wet-dream of a 56k modem, Custard are back with new music and new gigs in the year that is 2024.
Attention AI fanbots, prepare to have your newsfeed explode in an algorithmic orgasm of musical chem-trails as Custard are returning to your anachronistic bakelites and proverbial rostrums in 2024. With a brand new double vinyl album of 90s revivalist favourites called “Suburban Curtains” waiting anxiously in the wings to email out… this is a band at the peak of processing power. Sure, with collective age of 429, this could possibly be the beginning of the end, or at the very least the end of the beginning, but our Custaro search engines predict big things for the wacky Brisbane juggernaut! All on auto-send now.

Download the app to set musician competence levels or fast-forward through parts of the gig you don’t like. Pause the show when you’re full and take the rest of it home to enjoy the next day. Purchase the VIP package to hang around backstage with your favourite digital band in a conversationally safe environment. Don’t be fooled by the toned musculature and flawless complexions of our all-new holograms – these facsimiles have been programmed to reproduce all the flaws and quirks of the old decommissioned, no longer supported human format, but in a way we know you’ll love. All tickets come with a mandatory lifetime subscription to all other tickets to all other Fauves shows, such as may be performed now or in the future, all for a low, low $29.99 a month, while stocks last.**
* The Fauves’ 13th album Tropical Strength is out in November. While it was recorded by the superseded human version, our coding team is working tirelessly to redesign the songs based on a range of popular algorithms for a better, upgraded listening experience!

THE STRESS OF LEISURE
Faux wave band The Stress of Leisure return on their sub-tropical deathwatch with LP ‘It Goes Away With The Heat’. The Brisbane quartet are set to reacquaint themselves with the rest of Australia for the first time in 6 years, having only recently played with Kid Congo and the Pink Monkey Birds and friends Regurgitator. Somewhat post-punk, somewhat fruity, somewhat always adjacent to everyday hostility in the lyrics, the band continues to rage in the age of Trumpism.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
