About BIDEMI
Bidemi, a dynamic and innovative singer-songwriter hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, is making waves in the Afropop scene with his distinct and captivating sound. Described as “colourful as the continent of Africa itself,” Bidemi’s music is a vibrant fusion of traditional African rhythms and modern influences, creating a truly unique auditory experience.
Emerging onto the music scene in 2014, Bidemi has swiftly established himself as a talented force in Afrobeats, Afrosoul, and Afropop. His journey began in his university dorm room, where he honed his craft by writing songs, poetry, and spoken word pieces. In 2015, he released his debut single, setting the stage for a promising career.
Bidemi’s sound is a rich blend of Afrobeat, Afro RnB, rap, and soul, characterised by its soothing, healing, and honest qualities. His music resonates deeply, offering a relaxing and sweet listening experience that’s both wavy and emotionally authentic.

After releasing two singles before relocating to Australia just before the pandemic, Bidemi continued to impress with tracks like “Kiss My Butt” and “Tension Rising” in 2021. On January 2nd, 2022, he dropped his debut EP, *Foundations*, which quickly garnered attention. Since then, he has released several notable singles, including “Good Vibes and Hennessy,” “Ginja Me,” and “BLUE.”
Inspired by the soulful connection he feels while creating music, Bidemi integrates his rich cultural heritage with global musical influences. His move to Australia in 2020 marked the beginning of a new chapter, where he began to gain radio play and share the stage with renowned African artists such as Adekunle Gold and Bien.
Bidemi’s music is not just a blend of sounds; it’s an immersive experience that aims to touch the soul and offer a soulful journey every time you listen. Fear Fear is a beautiful blend of melodies, instrumentation and languages that’s sure to have listeners singing and dancing along. The artist makes use of call and response to give the listener a window to participate in the song. It’s a romantic song so of course the artist includes French and Yoruba in trying to woo his love interest.
