Dancing in the Venue: LANY Wraps Brisbane Show in Style

LANY closed out their “A Beautiful Blur” tour with a bang at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, giving fans the kind of night they’ll be talking about for days.

After a postponed date—due to an unfortunate car accident involving lead singer, Paul Klein—this gig was highly anticipated by fans.

As soon as the lights dimmed and “LANY” flashed on the big screen, the crowd’s cheers turned up. Opening with “ex i never had,” Klein immediately took the vibe from zero to heart-on-sleeve realness. His edgy, effortlessly cool presence made the place feel intimate. And let’s not skip his dance moves—smooth, carefree, and a whole lot of fun.

The production nailed it too. Neon lights set the scene, and the LED backdrop was a standout. However, a clever twist occurred when Klein positioned a camera for a front-row, in-your-face perspective. It was like seeing the show through his eyes.

Then came the softer moments, where LANY flipped the switch from party to introspection. During “I Pray” and “It Even Rains In LA,” Klein’s voice took on this fragile, almost whispery tone that pulled everyone in.

But then the energy shot back up with “Dancing in the Kitchen.”

Imagine everyone in the hall completely letting loose, arms in the air, smiles everywhere, and then—surprise—a fan was pulled up on stage! It was one of those fun, unplanned moments that make live music so incredible. The vibe was pure, and everyone was in it together, sharing the kind of carefree joy you can’t fake.

And just when things felt dreamy, LANY slipped into “Pink Skies,” turning the whole room into a love-soaked, swaying sea of nostalgia back to their earlier tracks. You could see the crowd moving as one to the song.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a LANY show without the heartbreak anthems “Super Far” and “13” to hit us in the feels. The crowd belting out lyrics with the same passion they probably felt on their last bad breakup. And when “Thru These Tears” rolled around, Klein’s voice cracked just enough to make it real. This wasn’t just a song—it was like he was working through his own pain, right there on stage, with every one of us feeling it too.

Then came the encore. Klein returned to the stage with “ILYSB,” which turned the entire venue into one huge karaoke session. Everyone’s arms were up, and it was like LANY had somehow taken all our collective heartbreak and turned it into something cathartic, even joyful. And as if that wasn’t enough, they ended with “XXL,” with Klein jumping right into the mosh pit, sending the energy through the roof in one final, wild moment.
