joining an iconic lineup!Beloved British Indie Rock Band Brings Their Classic Sound to Tasmania’s Biggest Festival February 2025
Party In The Paddock (PITP) is elated to reveal that UK indie rock icons The Kooks are the festival’s secret headliner for 2025! At Quercus Park on tilapangka/Liffey River in Lutruwita/Tasmania, PITP 2025 runs from February 6th to 9th, promising an extraordinary music & art fueled adventure of a weekend. The Kooks have been on PITP’s hit list for over a decade, and the festival is stoked to reveal one of their all time favourites as the 2025 Secret Headliner!
From their early hits like “Naïve”, “She Moves in Her Own Way”, “Seaside”, “Ooh La” to their latest album, 10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark, The Kooks have defined British indie rock for nearly two decades. Their recent collaboration with Lovelytheband on the single “Jeanie” adds another exciting layer to their sound. Opening with a minimalist pop groove and low-key synths, “Jeanie” features alternating vocals between Luke Pritchard and Mitchy Collins, delivering a heartfelt ode to everyday heroes.
The Kooks, unveiled as the ‘Secret Headliner’, join an extraordinary lineup featuring the iconic Empire Of The Sun and the ethereal AURORA, which are already captivating fans worldwide. With a history of surprises like The Veronicas and DMA’s, PITP 2025 promises to continue its legacy of standout performances and thrilling reveals – including the full Second Announcement landing next week, 26th November!
This year’s lineup is an eclectic blend of global and local talent, with highlights including the electrifying punk-rock energy of Amyl & The Sniffers, USA pop sensation Role Model, the soulful indie-folk of Thelma Plum, and the genre-defying artistry of Allday. The mix includes Yolŋu surf-rockers King Stingray, dreamy American innovator Still Woozy, and Australia’s indie-rock queen Angie McMahon, who recently won triple j’s ‘Best Live Act Of The Year’, ensuring the festival delivers unforgettable vibes.
PITP 2025 features six distinct stages, each offering a unique festival experience. The Paddock Stage, located in the heart of the main arena, is the iconic epicentre hosting Australia’s biggest names and global touring artists. Vibestown Stage, marked by its luminous pink gumtree, is renowned for cult favourites and non-stop vibes. The Bigtop dance tent guarantees pulsating beats into the early hours, while the Silvertongue Stage blends spoken word, comedy, and live podcasts with late-night cabaret. The Bullpen returns with its eccentric, queer Spaghetti Western theme, and the newly introduced Little Island Rising provides an intimate space to showcase emerging local talent during the morning acoustic sessions.
As part of its commitment to supporting local talent, PITP is once again teaming up with Triple J Unearthed. The competition offers Tasmanian artists the chance to join the 2025 lineup. To enter, upload your music to the Triple J Unearthed website by December 8th, 2024, for an opportunity to perform on the Paddock Stage alongside the likes of Empire Of The Sun and Amyl & The Sniffers.
PITP isn’t just about the tunes—it’s an immersive celebration of live music, community, and creativity, delivering a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As an independent music and arts festival, we’re thrilled to present another massive four days and nights, showcasing over 180 artists across six stages. From stunning art installations and pop-up markets filled with fresh Tassie produce to comedy, live podcasts, drag performances, cabaret, mechanical bull rides, doof stick pageants, skate ramps, meditation, yoga, and so much more, there’s truly something for everyone at PITP!

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
