What started as a grassroots movement for Melbourne’s underground hip-hop scene has evolved into something much bigger. RIPE Hip Hop has become more than just an event series—it’s a platform, a community, and a movement that continues to grow, uplift, and push boundaries for emerging artists.
“With every event, we’re seeing a broader and more diverse music community coming together. Hip-hop lovers, techno enthusiasts, and creatives from all walks of life are showing up not just to enjoy the music, but to support the culture.” Says Ronksy. “RIPE FEST 2025 is set to be our biggest event yet, showcasing that what we’re building isn’t just working it’s thriving.” Says Chooka.
This Saturday March 22nd RIPE are teaming up with BURNT BUTTER Events to bring RIPE FEST back to The Vineyard in St Kilda, transforming it into a two-stage festival experience: The Rhyme Room – Inside stage showcasing some of the best up-and-coming names in Australian hip-hop, giving them a stage to share their art and connect with new fans. Performers include Joe Snow, Juiceboxx, GNS, Don Paully, Raaz, Jdro, Reality Never Dies, L!fe, Korboy and 43 Scout.
The Groove Garden – oustside techno stage amongst the palm trees, bringing a completely different but complementary energy to the festival. This year’s lineup features Hausewife, Waxthief, Jetta, Ric Rodrigues, Padre, Jordan Maro, Kalusion, Perk, Menacetone, and Karla.
“RIPE isn’t just about throwing events we’re creating real opportunities for artists. We’ve given countless underground talents a place to perform, build their fanbase, network and grow their careers. Now, we’re taking things beyond the stage and onto the airwaves.” Says Katija.
RIPE Hip Hop co-founder, Katija, will be launching and hosting a brand-new weekly radio show, “Kickin’ It with Katija” on Kiss FM alongside KB808 from Cosmic Bounce Records. This means that the artists who are part of the RIPE community will now have another platform to reach the greater Australian audience not just in venues, but on the radio, straight to music lovers across the country.
With the support of major sponsors like Jägermeister, Moon Dog, Kiss FM, Amnplify, Vinage and The Pour Club, RIPE FEST is a true fusion of music, culture, and community. Going beyond just music offering a barber & hair braiding service, and exclusive POSH Bags for Lads merch, with proceeds going to charity to support underprivileged youth and giving back to the community.
This is more than a festival. It’s a movement that keeps growing and you’re invited to get amongst the culture.
RIPE FEST kicks off at 1 PM and goes late. Expect food, drinks, and non-stop energy.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.

I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
